This is true. I took my car to the dealer last week. Paid 3k to have the brakes, rotors and sensors replaced. I also overheard other people’s quotes for repairs and was :picard:. Some young dude was in there cursing at the service rep because his bill was 8 stacks and he bought a bullshyt third party warranty that was worth nothing.:mjcry:

It isn’t just limited to cars though. Homes, jewelry, women all require so,e form of maintenance. The fancier you get, the more it costs to replace parts.:whew:

You don't take your car to the dealership. You take em to a specialized Indy shop for much cheaper:dwillhuh:. Yeah, nikkas definitely need to stay away German whips:mjlol:

You also over paid. I guarantee an Indy shop would've costed bout $1200 less

That’s true if you own your vehicle. In my first post, I mentioned that I lease the vehicle. If I owned it, I would go to an authorized third party mechanic. If you lease an S560 and have the vehicle serviced by an unauthorized mechanic, that will void their factory warranty and cause a headache you don’t want for something you can care less about in the grand scheme of things.

I want an M5 bad... :francis:

I know the E63 is prolly more reliable but still... and the S6 can’t keep up with either one.

It's called planned obsolescence
bmw knows you want a new one in 3 years so why put in parts that last 10-15 years?

buy a commercial vehicle, those are made to last and may have less electronics
buy a diagnostic tool as well
buy a cheap used yota for daily driver and get bmw for special outings

rent one
:yeshrug:
Buy a commercial vehicle? You telling brehs to buy a big rig? :mjlol:

I've had 4 BMW's. All extremely reliable.

'01 325i biggest problem was a window regulator.
'03 M3 biggest problem was a bolt in the trunk-lid came loose.
'11 335i biggest problem was the coolant reservoir cracked and needed to be replaced.
'16 M4 biggest problem was a coolant leak a few months back.

On my third

Biggest problem for me was front axle had to be replaced from hitting a big ass pothole

It really depends on the model and the year. I learned the hard way. Unless you have the entire maintenance history, it's a risk.

I have a friend that is a mechanic and owns his shop. He bought an A8 a few years back and had that shyt three months. I forget exactly what went wrong with it - something to do with the lights - and he couldn’t do shyt with it and had to take it to the dealership. All in all, the repairs cost him thousands for something he normally could’ve done himself for next to nothing. He sold it immediately after that.

I Wonder how many people commenting have actually owned BMWs and not going off hearsay :jbhmm:

I got the 1 series a few months ago. Running smooth. service isnt a headache, my boy does mechanics, so he helps me with the servicing only major things im going to the mechanic for.. ive had no problems with it at all. only thing i gotta fix is the heating matrix. apart form that. My bay runs beautifully and hits 100 on the motorway with ease :wow:

Tried racing this big ass royce one day, thought them shyt was heavy and id pace it. Rolls gapped me with ease. looked like wtff is under them engines

No ones is mentioning the difference in reliability by what year the model of a car is. This is very important esp in luxury cars.... Ive heard the biggest nightmare stories about range rovers.

Deffo. same, wanted to lease the Evoque and i read all the stories and saw how expensive it was to service and fix. like nahh

settled for the BMW 1 Series
