Based on what. As big as a weight advantage Jan had, Izzy wasn't completely out of this fight. Until he landed the take down in the fourth, it could have easily went either way. Hell if they fight again, and Izzy actually bulks up some, I could see him winning.

Izzy underestimated Jan's striking, and he seemed slower, he should took a fight or two at light heavyweight instead of going straight for the champion, but I think Dana White put him under pressure, because these UFC cards have been trash and he wanted to create some big fight nobody asked for

There is a reason why some dudes take over a year to move up weight class. They gotta gain weight and muscle. Izzy just took it on 4 months notice and couldn't get his weight up. Izzy just got to commit. He got the frame. He just gotta take a year off, but he already damaged his undefeated appeal. Which is sad... I don't know if it was arrogance or money, but you don't risk an undefeated streak record so carelessly.

Izzy should’ve really dedicated to putting on the weight this isn’t kickboxing it’s MMA Jon Jones has taken the last year to properly go up to heavyweight, Izzy in his arrogance just that he could fight at his weight and not put any serious weight on those 205ers are giants and should be respected. You get pieced up half a round but if you get a takedown and lay on a nikka its a 10-8


I can watch a boxing match and if it goes to decision enjoy myself but if nikkas not getting ko'd this product is routinely booty.

10-8 is for near finishes (submissions or KO/TKO). Khabib's GnP is 10-8 worthy, not so much this.

Atleast this was a safer loss tho..to casuals, yes hes no longer undefeated and the appeal is gone...but to the fight fans, his only loss was to a bigger guy who is outside of his weight class.

I don't think the loss was too bad for Izzy, as far as consequences and revealing weaknesses go. I think it mostly showed that he's susceptible to takedowns in open space and he can be held down by bigger guys, but there's not really anybody at MW who can take advantage of it. I thought Vettori was his most interesting matchup at 185 heading into this, and I think the same heading out.
