If francis wins by ko they're no trilogy imo stipe retired then it's mega fight against jones
I get that impression as well.

I think Stipe is either 1 loss away or 2 wins away from retirement, whichever comes first.

Whoever wins tonight is getting that super fight with Jones, and I figure Stipe at 38 would see beating Jones as a perfect cash out and legacy-cementing dub for retirement. But if he gets KTFO tonight.. it could be 8 months to 1 year before he gets a rematch (that's his average gap between fights since 2017) and if Jones beats Francis, there's no guarantee Stipe could just side step Francis for a title shot.

I don't think Stipe would bother with any of that.

Why is this match being booked again?

Not in terms of who won what and the like, but in the sense that most everyone involved with booking this match watch the last match these two had right? A match I called "the absolute worst representation of the sport I've seen in a long time" on this very forum, made me openly wish I could walk up to the octagon and stop it with a steel chair, and inspired me to compare Ngannou unfavorably to Mickey fukking Gall, even though I was openly wishing for him to win so he should shut Dana White's penis headed MAGA ass up...the powers-that-be at the UFC booked a SEQUEL to that match? :mindblown:

Am I the only one wondering why there isn't more outrage and confusion about this? Why aren't people complaining about the UFC completely losing the plot with this? :mindblown:

:ehh:put it into perspective, at least (so far) he ain't lose to bums. Not to mention he won the belt at 36.

Covington (former interim), Burns (fought for the strap), and Usman current GOAT.
True but hasn't even won a round and looked like fish out of water. He had very good wins but breh a shell of himself :francis:
I think earlier he would have had way better shot vs covingt
