They gotta put out some real fire for the Cow Palace. If they're serious about breaking into the US market, every show they put on in the US has to be as good as any big show in Japan, and this definitely was not.

Don't have Jay White, a complete unknown in America, in a co-headlining match that went 20+ minutes against a guy who before this show was basically Yujiro tier in the the Bullet Club.

Gotta agree with the resident hater here as this is my first time watch a New Japan show live

This show started meh for the first few matches, got decent later on, 8 Man was good, went straight basura for the US Title match, and was saved by a fire main event.

Show was probably 3.25 to 3 1/2. When the final card was released it was obviously gonna be average. Some high spots, of course.

Quick thoughts:

-I didn't like the arena (bleechers :beli:). It probably came off good on TV tho.

-There were plenty of empty seats, but I think most cats were chilling on the guardrails around the building.

-I was so disappointed that they ddin't bring Japan shirts. I got there early just to beat the line. Went inside and it was basically the same shyt outside (minus towels and tracksuits). :beli: Ended up buying the NJ Logo shirt in Laker colors.

-The last 4 matches were, of course, the best on the card. U.S. match surprised me since my expectations were low. Hangman showed out, and this was probably his breakout match.

-Not sure if the cams caught it, but after Chuckie T hit that tope con hello outside, he went into the audience and took a selfie with a dude. :dead:

-Chaos/Suzuki gun tag match was good. It was awesome seeing Suzuki live (and singing the theme lyrics).

-Main event was 4-4.25 stars. Could've been more, but there was some sloppy spots.

G1 shows were better. Might make the trip to SF if they do it. Hopefully they stay in LA/OC area tho.

I’m pretty sure you’re the only one who actually had a positive thought about that match :mjlol:

Read online including this thread, that match was getting shat on

The arena really enjoyed Hangman/White.

Idk if the cameras caught the Ibushi botch on the double moonsault, crazy how close he came to seriously injuring himself.

Bleacher seats were horrible.

All you could see was him start to slip in the background as the shot was focused on Kenny. Cameras missing thing was a theme of the show, though, so no surprise. I'm assuming they used ROH's crew like they did for the G1 shows?

fukkin Ibushi overshot his jump. I was on the corner side where it happened. He came close to hitting head first on the apron. :damn:

JR don't need to be calling shows live anymore, he could get away with a match, but not a whole show. I didn't start watching until Liger vs Ospreay & he was fukking up a ton from when I started watching so I can't even begin to imagine how bad it was for the first half.

Jay White isn't ready for this push they gave him, I don't care about Hangman Page, & that match went forever :shaq2:

Sucks for Naito that Jericho left. Guy lost at Wrestle Kingdom, got attacked to set something up, & Jericho got the call to come back, so Naito is left just floating around.
