Another fantastic PBC and Al Haymon production :ohlawd: Two champions laying it all on the line in the great state of Texas!

Literally no one wants to fight Tank from Loma (scared), Rayo (scared), Shakur (broke his hand), Devin (broken spirit), Teofimo (selling wolf tickets, also trying to fight anywhere from 140 to 160). I’m sure the next question will be why won’t he move up 30 pounds and fight Canelo :mjlol:

The haters will tell you Tank doesn’t want to fight anybody, while telling you in the same breath that Inouye is the best fighter since Sugar Ray Robinson for beating up nobodies at 5am on ESPN2 (and getting knocked down while doing it). And they never ask him to move up :mjpls: stay woke.
Inoue is undisputed in 2 divisions. If you remove the names "inoue and tank" you're comparing a man that unified 2 divisions and beat a HOF in Donaire(that went on to win another title and become a top fighter AFTER losing to Inoue) to a fighter that has never even unified in his own division. Tank's best win was Santa Cruz , who is HOF bound due to being a 4 division champ. I may not agree with it, but him and Broner are getting there. So, there's that.

I agree that Loma is scared NOW, but they tried to get that fight years ago and Tank wanted no parts of it. He even was mad at Mayweather for suggesting it thinking he was being set up hahaha. Just face it, Tank doesn't want to fight anyone. But his resume is still 10x better than Booty Ennis.

I was thinking about this this morning as I was watching a Breadman interview on Mill city boxing channel, glanced down and dude only has ~30k subscribers
That's more than I have on any social media but in the world of Youtube that's basically a nobody. Small channels like Mill City, Trumedia, etc really get access to legit boxers and personalities on a regular basis. Like I seen Tim Bradley, a HOFer and current TV personality, on all kinds of random low follower channels. You can never do that in other sports unless you have some kind of personal connection maybe. A 30k YT channel couldn't even get an Eli Manning interview for instance

1 hand it's good cause it's a lane that open to basically anybody with the work ethic to stick with it, downside is anybody with an agenda or whatever can build a following while having access to be a mouthpiece

I work for the Ringer and I've had PBC and Top Rank reach out to me to get Bill Simmons or Russilo to do interviews. Bill had absolutely no interest in interviewing Tank, Errol Spence or Terrence Crawford but Russilo actually did an interview with Wilder and Fury but they didn't air the Wilder interview.

At some point I just decided that since Bill and Ryan didn't want to do them, I'd just interview these boxers myself on my gambling show. I've had Bud, Spence, Shakur, Devin, Tank, Oscar & Tyson Fury all on my show with 1 year but honestly I'm debating if it's even worth it for me to cover boxing anymore. It's such a small niche audience and honestly it's a labor of love for me.....my bosses really only care about NFL and NBA.

Once ESPN lets Top Rank go next year, things are only going to get worse as far as the media lanscape surrounding boxing because then no mainstream networks will even air boxing.

What a pathetic fight let alone ppv fight. I blame tank fans always dikk eating his every move
they are the worst. They know nothing of the sport and are easily pleased with him knocking out guys that they have never heard of. Now I've heard of all his opponents and so have you, but they haven't because they don't watch boxing for the most part.

youtube boxing channels are the worst. I rarely go on panels anymore.95% of them dikride their favorite fighters and show no criticism to them for doing the exact things they criticize other for. That's not journalism. Most of the youtube boxing channels are on some troll shyt saying the most outlandish BULLshyt for clicks and views. When you have guys claiming David Morell (who is a good fighter btw) is a future all time great after 11 fights and having fought no one, that's a problem. If someone is your favorite fighter, you should want the best for them. Ask your favorite fighters why aren't they making fights happen and stop being their blind cheerleader. That's my problem with the youtube boxing pages. I was a HUGE Roy Jones fan until 1996. After his Bryant Brannon fight, I saw that dude didn't want to fight anyone. shyt was sad. He shut out James Toney in 1994 and did absolutely nothing for the next 2 and a half years until he fought Montel Griffin in 97

interesting
i get that the mainstream platforms don't invest in it. but boxing seems to have a very active online presence. that's the one good thing about it being segmented with so many agendas, there are constantly conversations going on about the minutia of the sport. boxing might be second only to the nba in the way things outside of the ring takes up so much of the conversation in between events. I view ringer as a non traditional online media company so it seems like an lane they could dominate in.

Top Rank came to me with an idea about profiling Bob Arum at the age of 92 and how he was still on his grind, traveling from Saudi to Tokyo to Vegas for multiple fights all within a month. I used to write for the Action Network and write gambling picks in the New York Post but I was never the profile writer so I pitched to the editors and presented it to Mirin Fader, she was interested but the Ringer just didn't think it was a good fit for their site.

They really have no interest in boxing at all outside of covering big fights on Bill's show or whatever I decide to do on my gambling show.

i think they do this to maintain access. why that's even necessary is beyond me though, you'd think every promoter would want their boxers doing interviews on as many platforms as possible.

I called out TR was going to be in the same position PBC was in not because "PBC flopped" but because this major companies are not tryna deal with boxing because the ROI just isn't there. Dudes completely ignored and here we are. The Turki stuff isn't sustainable because they are losing money lol and as someone who actually goes to fights on my own dime, no fans are trying to go to Saudi for every damn fight.

Boxing did it to themselves. The days of boxers getting exorbitant purses for fighting nobodies while the network foots the bill is coming to an end. It's not just PBC doing it either, it's every promoter which is why the Saudi's had a path to take over.

The fact that Shakur turned down 15 million for 5 fights from Top Rank shows you that a lot of these guys are overpaid. Some of these Top Rank fights are doing 6-7K people in attendance. They didn't even release the Shakur-De Los Santos attendance because it was downright an embarassing figure. I know because I was there and the shyt was empty.

I'd add that the Saudi stuff isn't sustainable because you have to develop the next generation. These cards are stacked with talent but what happens when these guys age out and there haven't been enough cards to develop the next set of guys.

yeah the next gen of prospects will have nothing but maybe it is by design where they become Cheap UFC type labor. or people just leave the sport and its just 3rd world cats lol

This is a pathetic fight from Davis and team.

Roach is a 126-130 fighter, Tank just beating up on a littler guy. This is an easy fight for him if we honest.

I always try and give Davis the benefit of the doubt, but fukk, what a terrible career in hindsight. Barely had any legit belts or title fights, had a handful of exceptional performances (Garcia, Cruz, Romero, Barrios, , but on paper it's a pretty forgettable resume.

A real shame considering what it could have been, a generational standout at 130-135. His whole team is to blame, not just Ellerbe.
