Coach Ford don't fukk with Tank anymore?
Whole vibe of the press conference seemed off, Tank talking about retiring next year don't even look like he wants to fight anymore :francis:
The pressure of ppl demanding he take a 50/50 fight is getting to him

Tank Davis isn't retiring. This is the Too Short, Master P & Jay-Z blueprint from the 90s where they used retirement as a promotional tool only to return a year or two later. There's too much money on the table for Tank to walk away even if he hates what comes with the sport.

I don't know why yall are even buying into this nonsense

I don't think Tank is scared of Shakur. It feels like to me he doesn't want to either help get him paid or split the money. I could be wrong but I don't think this is a duck.

It's pretty clear to me that Tank does what Al Haymon and his team tells him to do. He likely presents him with a few options and they roll with that. If Shakur truly wanted the fight, he would have signed with PBC. Seems he felt Matchroom was the better look and I can't blame him.

Boxing has the worst sports media :mjlol:

Because literally anyone can go and ask for a credential. Unlike the NBA, NFL and MLB, Boxing isn't truly covered heavily mainstream. NBA, NFL and MLB has heavy restrictions on who can get a credential because honestly they don't need any and everyone.....just reputable reporters, journalists and personalities.

Boxing coverage is primarily handled by youtubers.....Think about it, one of the most prominent boxing voices are Ray Jackson (a dude who drives a forklift and tweets) and Show Biz, a youtuber.

You could literally start a youtube channel tomorrow and probably get just about any boxer to hop on your platform. This sport is just super niche at this point and companies like ESPN only care about the biggest events. Stephen A Smith will cover Tank vs Ryan or whatever big Top Rank fights happen but he's not going to waste his time with Tank beating up a jobber.

I was thinking about this this morning as I was watching a Breadman interview on Mill city boxing channel, glanced down and dude only has ~30k subscribers
That's more than I have on any social media but in the world of Youtube that's basically a nobody. Small channels like Mill City, Trumedia, etc really get access to legit boxers and personalities on a regular basis. Like I seen Tim Bradley, a HOFer and current TV personality, on all kinds of random low follower channels. You can never do that in other sports unless you have some kind of personal connection maybe. A 30k YT channel couldn't even get an Eli Manning interview for instance

1 hand it's good cause it's a lane that open to basically anybody with the work ethic to stick with it, downside is anybody with an agenda or whatever can build a following while having access to be a mouthpiece
