They bout to eat every other fighting game's lunch once it drops.
-League of Legends IP and Riot's marketing muscle
-Best in class character design, models, and animation
-Looks like MVC1 + SF in terms of gameplay
-Easy inputs
-Low skill floor, high skill ceiling
-The third version of GGPO netcode by the guys who invented rollback for fighting games
-Evergreen support and expansions
-F2P and crossplay
-Likely the largest playerbase in modern fighting game history
-Probably the biggest prize pots in fighting game history by a large margin
The devs of the other FGs need to just enjoy the next two years because when this drops everyone is gonna be on this as their main game. I'm confident that this will be the biggest fighting game since SF2.

FPS isn't a niche genre full of devs with outdated practices. This is gonna be so different from how fighting games are usually presented. Just think about the number of people who are gonna try a fighting game for the first time with this, whereas most gamers have played a number of FPS games over the years.people were saying the same thing about valorant.

This sounds like you're looking at it from purely a game standpoint without considering the bigger picture. I'm not gonna detail everything that's new here, but this is the first ever AAA F2P fighting game. A game's success is a result from as many real life factors that surround the game as the game itself. This project has almost every single thing you could ask for to increase visibility and accessibility in the fighting game space, aside from the announcement of single player content (and I wouldn't doubt that gets included as well).it looks nice, but nothing thats about to change the fighting game wheel
