i dont think theyre looking at it like that. what they probably arent doing is painting every unranked team with a broad brush. georgia had chubb when they faced alabama, maybe they would have fallen off anyway, but that allows for some subjectivity on the strength of that win. alabama doesnt have a win over a top ten team but they do have 5 wins over teams with 3 losses all by at least 14 points and 7 wins overall over teams with winning records.
one of the problems i have with notre dame is with their 5 game acc schedule this year they needed to sweep those games or have fewer losses than the conference champ. their raw numbers probably look pretty good with the 2 pt loss to clemson and two wins over current ranked teams, but both are non power 5 teams. 4 wins over team with winning records
the only way notre dame should get in is if the sec, b1g or acc champ has 2 losses. stanford will make this moot though.
Stop arguing for the conference and just admit that it's Alabama who is the top team and the rest of the SEC is slightly/very overrated.

Ole Miss is a C- squad.
Arkansas, TN, Georgia, aTm, are all ACTUALLY bad and are used to.make bama and eachothers resumes look good. I would honestly bet on Penn state over all of them. Northwestern isn't viewed as a good team somehow but are 9-2, and I'd bet on them over those teams too.
The rest are abysmal including piss st, uscjr, vandy, etc

You obviously don't watch those teams play. I think Arkansas and Tennessee would beat Michigan any day of the week. They probably would give MSU and Ohio State a run for their money. northwestern and Penn State are straight garbage. They aren't athletic enough to beat any top 6 or 7 SEC team.
