Yukes is clamoring for change but are stuck doing what their publisher/distributor, 2K, wants them to do. They were so frustrated they split their team and have started working on their own wrestling ip to explore all the ideas and concepts 2K haven't allowed them to develop, and to create competition in the marketplace that 2K would have to reckon with. 2K wanted them to stop, they refused, and that's why they split. This isn't good news for WWE games, but I'm sure AEW is on the phone right now interested in that other IP they're developing.
