We also need to keep in mind that meeting other life forms would prollly not be a good thing.

especially if they were advanced enough to come to us.

Just like here on earth when two cultures meet the more "advanced" culture usually overtakes the resources of the other.

:wow:
The U.S.S Enterprise at maximum warp speed would take 10 million years to reach some of those galaxies.
We can't even go warped speed yet.:dwillhuh:

exactly

and what materials are they gonna use to build a vehicle
capable of traveling at light speed while remaining intact?:usure::comeon::jawalrus::pachaha:*

:snoop:
arrogance+human imagination got motherfukkers thinking they can do anything

nope:umad:humanity*

Yeah it's insane.

For as much as I find astronomy fascinating....I highly doubt humans ever leave this solar system, let alone galaxy.

I'm not completely sure
but 99% is sure enough
do you know how fukking long it would take to travel however many lightyears to the next life bearing planet¿
do you know how unsuited organic life is for the environment of outer space?
lack of gravity/ridiculous radiation/extreme temperatures/space weather/etc.

You're assigning human limitations, scale, sense of time, and distance to something far greater, yet, I wasn't suggesting HUMANS could travel that far. And I wasn't suggesting that it's "organic" life that would be out there doing the traveling, either.

What I, and many others are simply suggesting is that life exists, more so than NOT existing- [and even more to the point of your statement suggesting that said life is somehow "stuck in their corner of eternity"]- I am suggesting that you expand the realm of possibility a little more.. realize that they may be far more advanced than we.. a few couple of thousand light years could be meh status :ehh: to them.

It is not "radical" to think that. Especially with "evidence" that they've visited here before.

Makes you really think. Our existence in the grand scheme of things is just a blip on the radar. Planet Earth really seems small and insignificant in comparison.

And at the same time, incredibly amazing because it is the dwelling place to those who have been able to explore and further understand this vast existence of the universe.

It makes you feel inconsequential and very special at the same time

No matter how many times it's explained, I don't see how anyone can look into the past. shyt seems like fake science mumbo jumbo. I can;t wrap my brain around it. If we can look into the past, especially something so far back, why not the opposite? What is time? *Insert Jaden and Willow Smith picture*
:wtf: nikka said what is time

well like I said 1% chance you're right
I leave room for the verifiable and consistent to be disregarded and overturned

I'm just saying it's highly unlikely*
