18. Here’s another look. The biggest star, VY Canis Majoris, is 1,000,000,000 times bigger than our sun:

19. But none of those compares to the size of a galaxy. In fact, if you shrunk the Sun down to the size of a white blood cell and shrunk the Milky Way Galaxy down using the same scale, the Milky Way would be the size of the United States: :dwillhuh::ohhh::dwillhuh::ohhh:
enhanced-buzz-26073-1416240120-12.jpg

20. That’s because the Milky Way Galaxy is huge. This is where you live inside there:
enhanced-buzz-8807-1416248634-22.jpg

21. But this is all you ever see:
enhanced-buzz-26212-1416241673-4.jpg
:mjlol: we can't see shiiiiiiiittt

22. But even our galaxy is a little runt compared with some others. Here’s the Milky Way compared to IC 1011, 350 million light years away from Earth:
enhanced-buzz-23984-1416244147-13.jpg
Our galazy is huge, and yet it's a spec comparted to Galaxy IC 1011. How the hell is there not life on these other galaxies :comeon: it's impossible NOT to be. There has to be SOMETHING else out there besides us.

23. But let’s think bigger. In JUST this picture taken by the Hubble telescope, there are thousands and thousands of galaxies, each containing millions of stars, each with their own planets.

shyt looks like a video game :dwillhuh:

24. Here’s one of the galaxies pictured, UDF 423. This galaxy is 10 BILLION light years away. When you look at this picture, you are looking billions of years into the past.
enhanced-buzz-11551-1416252531-16.jpg
how do they know that those light years are going backwards :ohhh: how do they know that, that galaxy isn't billions of years in the FUTURE  :ohhh:

25. And just keep this in mind — that’s a picture of a very small, small part of the universe. It’s just an insignificant fraction of the night sky.

26. And, you know, it’s pretty safe to assume that there are some black holes out there. Here’s the size of a black hole compared with Earth’s orbit, just to terrify you:

So if you’re ever feeling upset about your favorite show being canceled or the fact that they play Christmas music way too early — just remember…
This is your home.

This is what happens when you zoom out from your home to your solar system.
enhanced-23602-1416254783-1.jpg

And this is what happens when you zoom out farther…
enhanced-13455-1416254783-31.jpg

And farther…
enhanced-32014-1416254781-8.jpg

Keep going…
enhanced-24322-1416254781-8.jpg

Just a little bit farther…
enhanced-17879-1416254785-1.jpg

Almost there…
enhanced-4777-1416254781-29.jpg

And here it is. Here’s everything in the observable universe, and here’s your place in it. Just a tiny little ant in a giant jar.

If anybody is having a bit of trouble fathoming all of this into some sensible scale of "perspective", let's just examine this one again:

19. if you shrunk the Sun down to the size of a white blood cell and shrunk the Milky Way Galaxy down using the same scale, the Milky Way would be the size of the United States:

Do you know how small a white blood cell is ?? :dahell:

And to think.. if that tiny sized white blood cell represented the sun, then the Milky Way as a whole would still be the size of the United States :dead:

Imagine having to find something the size of a white blood cell, across an area the size of the United States :mindblown:

And keep in mind that the white blood cell is representing the sun- earth would be even tinier.

It's almost unfathomable :mindblown:
Then you add to it that the Milky Way is one of the smallest galaxies :mindblown: complete and utter mind fukk :wow:

And idiots refuse to think that there are no aliens....

we are aliens
in someones perspective

there are most likely life forms on many many planets
some maybe just like us

and just like us those motherfukkers are stuck in their corner of eternity

now as you can see
space is unfathomably vast
and there are various cataclysmically destructive forces at work in space

no organic lifeform is traveling through space my breh
life doesn't bloom outside life bearing planets
like fish don't breathe air
and humans don't have gills
ya dig*

Wouldn't be so sure about that

I'm not completely sure
but 99% is sure enough

I know sci-fi movies make interstellar travel look like something realistic
but on the real

do you know how fukking long it would take to travel however many lightyears to the next life bearing planet¿
do you know how unsuited organic life is for the environment of outer space?
lack of gravity/ridiculous radiation/extreme temperatures/space weather/etc.

fukk that shyt
until proven otherwise e.t. can kick it with the immortal deities of antiquity
fairy tales and imaginary bullshyt:pachaha:*

:wow:
The U.S.S Enterprise at maximum warp speed would take 10 million years to reach some of those galaxies.
We can't even go warped speed yet.:dwillhuh:
the

exactly

and what materials are they gonna use to build a vehicle
capable of traveling at light speed while remaining intact?:usure::comeon::jawalrus::pachaha:*

:snoop:
arrogance+human imagination got motherfukkers thinking they can do anything

nope:umad:humanity*
