You're not from Chicago so you wouldn't know. But one of the perpetrators went to Oak Park River Forest Highschool which is a top public high school in a wealthy upper middle class suburb and another went to Rich South which isn't on the level of OPRF but is squarely within "quiet black middle class suburbia". "Circumstances" is not the excuse for at least two of these kids.

She was in uniform. Let’s say the didn’t know. After they shot her they went back to the car. Someone ran back and went in her pockets. The guy called his friend to brag about it after it made the news.


Even if they didn’t know she was a cop they knew she was a woman.

Demographics have changed but Richton Park, Park Forest, Matteson, and Monee are still quiet communities even if crime has increased from the 80's and 90's.

If Rich South is ghetto, it's because of the families that have recently moved into the communities within the past 20 years. The communities are still quiet though and nothing like 79th St, a few blocks from where this crime took place.
