The thing is, I asked a question? You know something you do when you don't know the answer to and trying to find out.. you the one coming at me like you knew what you were talking about lol

hey my bad bro. i misunderstood what you said in the first post. you were right. now that i read the whole report-- a lot of these jobs are seasonal.

48,000 of these jobs are seasonal adjusted construction jobs (as in they're guessing the future and adding it to the february job numbers)...... 21,000 jobs added in hollywood (I guess oscars and movies)..... and 18,000 temporary retail.

What kind of mass seasonal hiring goes on Feb, and what industries experience a consistent bump during that month? Seasonal hiring refers to the holiday season, which is associated with increased hiring generally.... every day and month is technically a "season"...

Actually a lot, companies are gearing up for the spring and summer seasons, so companies who deal with lawn equipment, rodent and insect termination, pool services etc.

1st Round Playoff Exits
- Unemployment for those with college degrees: 3.8%
- Unemployment for those who attended college without graduating: 6.7%
- Unemployment for those with only high school education: 7.9%
- Unemployment rate: Men (7.1), women (7), Teenagers (25.1), white (6.8), black (13.8), Asian (6.1) Hispanic (9.6)
Yeah, college education is so useless :beli:

Yeah but how much is underemployment. I read another article about this same topic, that when taking into account for people underemployed, unemployed, and stopped looking for jobs, the tide sits around 26 million unemployed.

:dead: @ trying to pay off student loans working as a barista at starbucks, while still having worry about other expenses; healthcare, childcare, gas, car loan, insurance, food, rent, etc...

It's cole world out there. :to:

 should have choose engineering ( @AquaCityBoy )

In February?

Lots of construction happens this time of year. Home Depot does its seasonal hiring this time of the year.

The problem is that most of these jobs that were created, and have been created in this recovery, are service industry jobs. A lot of people are still underpaid/underemployed.

Lets be reality 7% unemployment is the new normal. None of us know anyone who has been out of work since 2009 and if we do, that person is more or less unemployable anyways.

People are taking shyttier jobs and working for less money than before. But there is something wrong with someone who got laid of 4 years ago and is still "looking" and nobody really cares about that class of American anyways....

Your generalizations are ridiculous.

True. I went overboard.

But the point is that the idea that there are folks out there who have been sitting on the sidelines for 4 years who are just gonna hop up and get back to work once things "pick up" is unrealistic...

Its not necessarily their fault though. Employers power trip.

Yeah I agree and thats why I just edited my post. I wanted to make a point about severely inexperienced and undereducated folks who can't even get service jobs or overqualifed folks who refuse to or can't lower their standards (old people)

but I ignored the fact that employers have also raised their standards to ridiculous degrees...which is not their fault at all.

america is just fcuked up to the point of no return.
you got banks, corporations and the government working in tandem for their own best interests (money and power) and don't care what happens to the "little guy" which is the middle and lower class.
