Right a lot of we’re happier single but the world beats down on women for being single (look at @GodinDaFlesh post for example) so a lot of women rush into marriage and end up abused, cheated on, forced to work full time jobs AND expected to do all the housework on her own etc and they realize they were happier single.

Of course not all marriages are bad but obviously if women initiate 70% of divorces but supposedly women are SOOOO unhappy single there is something wrong with the marriage.

Most people have unrealistic expectations when it comes to marriage especially women. You ever think the reason why 70% of women file for divorce is because they're unhappy yet can't figure out why they're miserable single. There's a common denominator here and it ain't men.

it wasn’t bragging.
I mean I dunno :hubie:

Just seems like it's now a contest for who needs the other sex less. When I'm sure the reality is that we still need each other... even if our egos wont let us admit it anymore.

The disconnect between men and women seems to be growing everyday and it is what it I guess. Just be interesting to see how the future will look.

You say this like you believe married men are happy. Men are just more socially conditioned to put up with unfortunate circumstances and hold the belief that we lose more in a divorce.
Yep. Conditioned to not show emotions or be labeled weak

Just imagine if men were comfortable divorcing women because they werent having enough sex after being married.:mjlol:

Thats like 75% of marriages right there:russ:
And women and the media would work overtime shaming us. Oh wait they already do. Just look at articles involving sex, cheating, etc. Somehow someway it's mainly the guys fault

Just look here:
When given the chance, 55 percent of men and 62 percent of women said they would tell a male cheater that they "should have tried harder to fix your marriage" before they cheated. But when given the chance to offer the same reprimand to a woman who cheated, just 48 percent of men and 45 percent of women said that they would do so. Men and women are more likely to tell a man he should have tried harder.
Are Women and Men More Likely to "Punish" Male Cheaters?

Society coddles women despite the notion we're equal

Nah. I didn’t know but only a very small percentage of chicks actually get alimony. Studies indicate stress associated with marriage for reasons why women don’t want to get remarried in many cases.

:beli: Because they get child support

Some 31.4% of single dads who have custody of their kids received spousal support in 2016, and 52.3% of moms did, the parenting blog VeryWell Family reported, citing U.S. Census Bureau figures. The average amount of child support was $5,774 per year, or about $329 a month, but only 68.5% of that money was actually received, according to Census data.

More women are paying alimony (as more wives become breadwinners)

Some men probably don’t get how stressful marriage can be for a lot of women. Larger percentages of men reported infidelity than females. In fact some men feel entitled to multiple partners hence all the talk men do about polygamy.

Dealing with that and a lot of men still feeling entitled to a live-in maids/cooks instead of being willing to share household duties were some of the largest predictors. Also childcare is predominately still women’s responsibility. Combine all of this AND majority of women are in the workforce, plus loss of freedom and a lack of sexual satisfaction and that’s why a lot of divorced women don’t want to get remarried or are willing to get divorced even in their old age.

Don't let the gray confused you, that's the idea men and women should do it.

Outside of making decorating and stuff, it's 50/50

Look at this and think about the fact men spend more time on a job;

About 45 minutes less doing household duties
It’s kinda hard to talk about this stuff with men b/c egos make them so angry if you even mention some of the difficulties women might have in marriage. Men get offended if women are even happy outside of relationships so discussing this stuff can be tricky...hilariously so.
I’ll just watch this thread unfold tho.

:snoop:

I'm tired of this. Our entire culture is built around what women want in relationships and marriage.

You can't name one television show where men, on the daily, air their grievances about marriage and relationships.

And when we do, we're misogynistic, sexism, pigs who might be closeted homosexuals that rather live with a man.

If your gonna speak generally, do that, if that's your specific experience, than speak that.

:yeshrug:You'd have a good audience here, most of us don't wanna get married.

when you provide stats you need to also provide the sources. Pasting tables singularly without actually provide the sources they come from does not back up an argument. Anyone can go to PowerPoint and create these charts.

as for the chart about the household chores, actually doesn’t support your argument. Most of these the percentage that belongs to women far exceed the percentage that belongs to men. They grey insinuates that men and women do so equally. I am willing to bet that equally is very subjective. I would like to have the sources so I can obtain the sample size and Althea age demographic used.

The sources are listed on the pictures/graphs.
