If you remove all the inherent biases and dismissal of hip hop as an art form Future is 1000% a blues artist. What LA said aint far fetched at all

We gotta dig into and respect the artistic merit of our shyt more
Yeah beast mode is basically a blues album. A lot of Older people enjoy Future’s music. They may not like the lyrics but his voice, melodies, and production they enjoy

Drake posted skrt skrt early on in his career and it helped blow that song up and his career.

Kodak was known in florida after no flockin and OG project baby but he didn't blow blow til that cosign and then i think lockjaw was after that
Kodak was already blowing up and That song had millions of views before Drake posted that clip

This is a local thing and a gender thing

a lot of male rap fans will have some of their favorite projects of the year that aren’t all mainstream rappers

females favorite projects will all be mainstream rap
Yup. That’s the main part people miss. Dudes only talk about what other men are listening to but the bigger consumers are the ladies.

nikkas in the hood/urban areas have never gravitated towards Drake. They like some of his songs, mostly the harder shyt with trap rappers or club bangers but he's never been 50,Wayne,Jeezy,Future status among black men EVER. The most I ever heard nikkas playing him was WATTBA.

Women and whites make up most of his core fan base so 21 isn't wrong with what he's saying especially in the south.
This is not it

what you’re failing to admit is that hood nikkas is a niche demographic in the grand scheme of things. There are more black non hood nikkas thst listen to drake than hood nikkas that don’t

you’re probably white

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven

Dude said what he meant twice and people still arguing what he meant, who gets more play, what hood nikkas is doing...

He said HE wouldn't be listening to drake. In atlanta there's A LOT of nikkas who think future>drake. He didn't say more nikkas, all the nikkas, most people, or even half. He's clearly talking about a specific type of dude.

Ak also doesn't get it, so he brings up he's number 1 though....

21 says again.. If you this type of guy I'm describing, then you don't care about that shyt. If Drake got 90% of the world listening, they are the 10%. And then further backs this up by saying he basically had a lot of future mixtapes, but drake didn't have it like that. Drake content is nowhere as hood as future shyt, so they wasn't going into any stores to pick up his albums like that. They also had no spotify and shyt to listen and wouldn't care anyway cause they already had the fire mixtapes

That's not a diss to Drake nor saying anybody is actually bigger.. Just that in his spot, nikkas was listening to future mixtapes and thought he was the shyt. I believe him

Just like NY, there was an era where mixtapes >>>>>>>>> mainstream releases. That Dipset, G-Unit, Kay Slay, Clue, P-Cutta, etc era nikkas was bumping Pap, Say, Dipset, Uncle Murda, etc...waaaay more than we was listening to just music on the charts
More nikkas in Atlanta loved Kilo Ali than Biggie and it ain't even close.

And in 2003 someone like 21 would say that people don’t listen to 50 like that where he’s at, more TI and Lil Jon. Where they bigger? Could they sell out arenas in ATL as fast as 50? No.

For the past years the 3 biggest Future songs were with Drake on Spotify. He’s like his son.

I mean...that's kinda 21's point though.

Someone on here in another thread said that TM101 was bigger in the South than The Massacre. Even though the Massacre was objectively the bigger album with bigger hits, TM101 was being bumped and played more in Southern states in 2005.

It's similar to how Tupac is bigger to us than Eminem is despite Eminem having more sales and bigger hits.

TM101 was big everywhere, as was The Massacre.
That shyt nearly sold 3 million, while the Massacre did 6.

The difference between Future and Drake is like platinum/gold vs 5x/6x.

The south is more than half the black population and almost 40% of US population.

Just a comparison, Future did Atlanta with Young Thug on his last tour. Didn't fully sell out, gross 900k
Drake did it with Migos, sold out and grossed 5 million.

The south is not only people like 21 savage, there's broads, people without tattoos on their face, rednecks, hipsters and whatever you have everywhere.
21 is talking about when he was a young savage, to him and his guys, Future was that dude. That's not the same as speaking factual about who the biggest artist is.

Future has consistently outranked Drake on my spotify "of the year"-list, as has he Adele, Beyonce and on. That says nothing about anything other than my preference.
