The fact is people gravitate to the era of music they grew up on. If you grew up on 90's hip hop that's what you are used to so naturally you are going to take to 90's hip hop. If you grew up on today's music you are going to take to today's music. I got family saying it aint real music because they have no big band behind them-> Big band of all things. The big band Era was the 1935 till about 1945.. My parents music of the 70's had bands and to them the music I grew up isn't "Real music to them because it wasn't what they grew up on. now what modern hip hop youth can relate to music in the 1930's or 40's, or even the music of the 70's?
