the 2pt conversion stuff is accurate because i remember when scott frost came to ucf he did that shyt all of the time. but faking it at your 20 or whatever is just straight up "i don't even respect you because if we somehow fail it won't matter because you all are bums."
Oregon did a fake punt from their own 25 on the first drive of the game against UCLA when the Bruins were the #12 team in the nation. And that was on a 4th-and-14 too.
The did an onside kick early in the 2nd quarter last year, which is almost the exact same scenario but even more difficult to pull off, when UCLA was the #21 team in the nation.
In 2016, Oregon was a bad team that finished 4-8. Colorado was ranked #17 in the nation. And Oregon still ran a fake punt from their own territory in the 2nd quarter.
Last year Oregon was playing #25 Washington, tried an onsides kick in the 2nd quarter, failed, and lost the game.
Counting yesterday, that's 5 examples of them doing that shyt in the 1st half from their own territory against ranked teams, and 3 of those examples are in the last year.
Has nothing to do with respect, it's just how they play to win. Most of the time, it works.
