Houston
Dallas
Austin
San Antonio
Fort Worth
Arlington
Galveston
College Station
Harlingen
Beaumont

Sidebar: There are a bunch of cities WITHIN Houston (Missouri City, Woodlands, Sugarland, Katy, Pearland, etc.) and DFW (Dallas, Forth Worth, Plano, Denton, Frisco, etc.) You could objectively do a whole list with those two alone.

'Cuse, New York
NYS:
New York City
Syracuse
Buffalo
Rochester
Albany

Outside of New York City, Syracuse, and Buffalo are more often than not the most popular alternatives and are the most populous within NYS.

Some of the cities within the state are too small to be considered a city imo but rather like towns but also demographics considered, a little too sundown-ish in vibe. A lot of the people who leave New York City don't always move Down South but mostly come Upstate.

Nethier NY nor FL has 10 cities worth mentioning IMO.

Syracuse is #5 below Rochester. NY's top 5 is

New York
Buffalo
Albany
Rochester
Syracuse

The bottom five would be some combo of Binghamton, Utica, Poughkeepsie, Watertown, Schenectady, and Rome...
