Gettin Profar in LF is huge. Him & Ozzie grew up together so he’s gonna come in and be comfortable immediately. Once Acuna gets back, it’ll be one of the best outfields in baseball

I’m excited for the season, need a reliable 5th starter to step up tho
I have no confidence in anyone in our organization stepping up to be that 5th starter. AA can still make a move though, so we'll see. A lot of people wanted Arcia replaced at SS but I'm one of the few that is ok with him. He has an above average glove which is almost just as valuable as having a more consistent bat at that position.

Same. SS cost too much these days. I am fine with an above average one.

:salute: Ronald for actually learning to speak English!

I'm so proud of him man :mjcry:

I still remember when ESPN had him mic'd up in the outfield during a game in like his 2nd season. shyt went so bad I think he was discouraged from even trying for a long time, even though his English has probably been close to this level for a second. Him being confident in himself like this definitely bodes well for how he's coming back this season

The fussing over us "not doing anything" is kinda crazy to me. We signed the 2nd best OF on the market, have a legit All-Star lineup pretty much from 1 to 8, and the only real hole is at SS where the best(and basically only) one out there got a deal to pay him over 25 million at age 36. Our rotation looks shaky in theory but the top 4 slots are locked down once Strider is back and we have literally a dozen MLB ready arms to fill the 4 and 5 spots until then. We still have the best team in the division and if everybody plays at like, the 85th percentile of what they're "supposed to" then we're winning it. AA is really the GOAT and should never be doubted :hubie:

I'm worried about the starting pitching. I'm not counting on Strider being dominant when he eventually returns. We let Fried and Uncle Charlie walk and did nothing to replace them :francis:

I feel that, but pitching is volatile in general. I wanted Fried back for sure but I wasn't interested in paying Blake Snell or Corbin Burnes crazy money. And when you talk about that second tier of SP, we have so many arms that have the potential to put up similar numbers for a fraction of the price that you have to at least give them a chance to take those spots.

We're already locked in with:

Sale
Lopez
Schwellenbach
Strider when he's back, even if he's not 100%

Then we got:

Ian Anderson
Bryce Elder
Grant Holmes
AJ Smith-Shawver
Hurston Waldrep

Already on the 40-man, alongside a bunch of rando lottery tickets,

Then behind that, idk how much yall follow the minors, but you got guys like Hackenburg, Burkhalter, Braun, and a few more that are showing the same type of traits and progress to "come out of nowhere" next year like the Spencers did.

That's a lot of lottery tickets for really only 1.5 open spots in the rotation. It's not guaranteed, but I think that it's a pretty sure bet that 2-3 of these guys can at least be "average", which is all we really need them to be.
