And while votes are still being counted, preliminary election data shows about 155 million ballots were cast. This would mean an estimated 89 million Americans, or about 36% of the country’s voting-eligible population, did not vote in the 2024 general election.

Funny thing is if you gave these people an option of "Neither" they would probably go just to show their distain for both sides. Democrats spent the whole time telling us why we should vote for Trump, and never gave us a reason to vote for them. There were only 3 options, vote For Trump, Against Trump, or Stay home.

one understood your grievances and proposed plans going forward to improve your lives, the other had a concept of a plan aka no plan to improve your lives. one blatantly lied to your faces while the other tried to suggest avenues. you chose not to execute that one and only right that make you equal to the cacs....but noooo your childish tantrums will now dictate how your kids live for the next 30 years.

New in PN: "Black women have long had to navigate being twice as good to get half the amount of credit. Kamala Harris’s presidential run was evidence of this." Kamala Harris’s hidden barrier

@Dog_House_Show
Kamala Harris had 4 months to get her campaign together and given that short amount of time she did absolutely PHENOMENAL given she is in a near tie with Trump.

@Matthewtravis08
Yet an entitled old white guy,
Who’s a convicted felon, adjudicated rapist and self admitted sexual predator can take the presidency.

America has a long fukking way to go.

No, it was evidence of a terrible and out-of-touch campaign.

But keep deluding yourselves because I’m looking forward to President JD Vance in 2028.

Kamala Harris's presidential run brought to light the enduring challenge for Black women in politics, where even with exceptional qualifications and efforts, the recognition and success might not be proportional due to entrenched societal biases. This event fits into a larger conversation about representation, equity, and the unique struggles faced by Black women in leadership positions.

Kamala Harris's presidential campaign indeed highlighted several challenges and perceptions that Black women in politics frequently encounter, reflecting broader systemic issues related to race and gender in American politics:
Double Standards and Stereotypes:
Black women often face heightened scrutiny and are subjected to stereotypes like the "angry Black woman" or being perceived as less competent or likable based on racial and gender biases. During her campaign, Harris was criticized for her prosecutorial style during Senate hearings, which some interpreted as aggressive, tapping into these stereotypes.

People are so sick of race-baiting nonsense like this.

She ran against a guy who couldn’t get a job a Jiffy Lube

9/11
@OreoExpress
She was horrible. Has nothing to do with the color of her skin.

When you’re sent to “journalist” camp I hope you’re in a bottom bunk under Joy Reid.

America must come back to center-left, center-right, rejecting the extremes on BOTH sides. If we can't/won't america is doomed and we have ALL earned.....

I said this at the beginning, Kamala would need to be extraordinary to win while Trump literally had to breathe. We really should look into why the expectatiosn for Trump are so low while somoeone like Kamala had to answer for things her boss did? On top of that Trump and co made it seem like she had the power to run the country under Biden somehow. There was a lot of misinformation and at the end of the day, they're going to pick a white man over a black woman.

I mean it's been said as black folks we have to do twice as much as our white peers to move ahead. Add in her being a woman and that appeared to be a hurdle too high to get over. I still say her campaign did a hell of a job considering how little time they had to put together the campaign and how short of a time she had to campaign before the election.

It’s been a few days, but it still baffles me in quiet reflection that the biggest adversity white Americans have ever faced thus far is paying a bit more for gas and groceries, and they were willing to sell the whole country out to fascism over it. Yeah, that’s gonna stick to the soul whenever I see people in public. :francis:

The "pick yourself up by your bootstraps" people? Yea. They're so dramatic. :bryan:
