A lot of people who vote for the Green Party are people disillusioned with the Democrats.
A lot of people who vote for the Libertarian Party are people disillusioned with the Republicans.
If a vote for the Green Party is a vote for the GOP then wouldn't that mean that a vote for the Libertarian party is a vote for the Dems? If that's the case then 3rd party votes are a net gain for the Dems. In the last 5 presidential elections going back to 2004 the Libertarian candidate has gotten more than double the amount of votes of the Green Party candidate. Some people seem to think it's only the Green Party syphoning votes.
Fact is all these 3rd party votes happen in every election and will continue to happen in every election. It's built in to every presidential race. Whoever wins has to overcome this inevitable reality. People love to cite the 1.07% Jill Stein got in 2016 but ignore the 3.28% Gary Johnson got.
Even when you single out Michigan where Hillary lost by only 10,704 votes. Yeah Jill Stein got 51,463 votes. But Gary Johnson got 172,136 votes. More than triple the amount of Jill Stein. So you can argue even in Michigan more votes were syphoned from Trump than Hillary but she still lost.

I think the first thing he needs to clear up with those people is whether he is talking about dry water or wet water. THAT is the most important thing when you talk about artificial water, whether it is wet or dry!
