Also while I already said I don't think the other shyt mattered...I hope democrats understand that adopting every idiotic liberal view during a primary is gonna hurt you. I'm still not convinced Kamala has any real ideological views beyond her wheelhouse (crime, prosecution, cities, California, etc). She will adopt whatever is meta or popular, which can be a good thing or a bad thing. In 2019/2020 it was a bad thing.

If you're Shapiro you gotta keep doing what you're doing and ignore every activist coming your way. Because they will be coming. And they will demand he focus on every identity issue over the sun, accuse him of not caring about black issues, etc. It's coming, let's just be real about it.

Dem needs to play catchup and start bankrolling content farms and get something mainstream going...

I was concerned about this. I was hoping we could stall until after the election but that was clearly a problem and will be one for the foreseeable future.

Musk last week come out and said “prepare for a world of economic hurt when we win”

40+ years ago Carter told Americans to live within their means and is still mocked for it

We’re just not in a serious society anymore

I didn't say they lost the election, I said they sowed division within the party the same way that the alt-right was allowed to go unchecked on Twitter and other spaces...

So anyone in the middle like Biden and Harris were getting dunked on from both sides.... and made to look incompetent and made to be seen as the primary reason why working class voters are paying more at the grocery stores.

The everyday person doesn't understand shyt about how the economy works or how inflation works, sowing division in the party only helps with furthering the narrative that these things were Biden's fault.
This is a big issue. Progressives blaming Biden for Gaza got them what

Looking at this more and man....there was no policy issue to fix this. There was no vice president choice to fix this. This was simply about the same thing that has happened in multiple western democracies since covid: incumbents getting smoked due to inflation, high prices, etc. The thing that kills me is that inflation has been dropping for months, the Fed hit the soft landing (perfectly), the jobs market has been humming....everything was there but the costs simply didn't lower fast enough for enough people.
The entire bull case for Kamala taking over from Biden is that she could neutralize the incumbency disadvantage and create a new race. And she did this at first, which is why she received a historic pop when she entered the race. But then the Obama people came on board and infected her campaign and turned it into Biden's 2nd term with "I wouldn't do anything different" messaging and cutting out all the new style she was spinning. You can trace the downfall of this campaign to early October when Tim Walz had his nuts cut off before the debate, they brought in Liz Cheney as her new running mate, and then she dropped that stupid ass line on The View. Then when the pressure got too high to keep riding on no policy vibes, they rolled out a series of weak tea bullshyt like "A Bitcoin In Every Black Man's Pocket!" plan instead of pursuing bold new policy signalling a pivot from Biden. The people who took over for her campaign believe everyone loves establishment politicians, so they molded her into one and killed any uncontrollable vibe they weren't familiar with. This was a very winnable race, she just had to keep her foot on the gas instead of slamming the brakes.

I think racism/Misogyny/xenophobia played the biggest part, but we cant keep discontinuing economic anxiety. I’ve been guilty of it myself.

Racism doesn’t explain the shift in Latinos and black men for Trump. I also think the 15 million drop in her popular vote from 2020 numbers requires a more nuanced explanation.
There was no primary so no base of voters explains that drop

I hope people realize that's the ball game. It's basically over from here. Trump will replace Alito and Thomas. He'll add more federal judges. He'll decimate a lot of government jobs, which black people have traditionally benefited from. Ukraine is fukked. Iran is fukked. More stupid policy towards China. And more privatization of government. And Elon with a hand in all of it. I'm sick.

Only saving grace is that Trump will crash the economy if he gets his way on tariffs. Just based on my vantage point in finance....a lot of people simply don't believe the tariff shyt is going to happen. And he has plenty of people in his camp advising him against it. The problem is that there are others pushing for it, and sooner or later he's gonna do what he always does and make idiotic terrible decisions.
Prices don’t go down in a roaring economy

As the results come in, I think we are going to see that Trump didn't win any new votes. He got 74 million votes in 2020 and probably will get around that number in 2024.

The real story is that Harris alienated her own base trying to win mythical non-existent Republican swing voters, and instead lost 20 million members of her own base from 2020.
