Fischer is a sharp guy, but that tweet is condescending nonsense. I read his book in 2022. The Chaos Machine -anyway- The issue is a few thing, but mainly the messaging from the Biden admin and the man himself. He kept touting stats and numbers and data. He wouldn't or rarely acknowledged voters frustration, or took steps to address it. and I posted last night in here, the policy on Ukraine was out of step with what voters wanted or cared about, and the way it was messaged was high handed and out of touch. what was the end game in Ukraine? I don't even know. If Putin is so dangerous, why can't we flex on him at all?
Their agenda like with senate bills and the CHIPS act and the ARP may have been populist in theory, but that's not how it came across.

another thing that's interesting, Lopez Obrador and now Sheinbaum, are the most Left presidents of Mexico of all time, they are extremely popular with the poor and working class. Their party, Morena dominates the country, just in the last 6 years. They basically dethroned PRI and PAN, made them an afterthought.
They also face the press and public everyday, and talk like essentially normal people, Lopez Obrador more so. No press secretary to flank them. They go straight up with people, and millions watch those every morning. They don't sound like PR campaigns or McKinsey branded statements. They sound like everyday people. They can sound like your Uncle, like a narco, like an old west cowboy, like Trump, but what they never sound like is out of touch politicans.
