Purists will never understand. You have to actually win before you can effectively change policy.

They don't read the temperature of the room. Can't say it's hot in the room when everybody else is rocking winter coats. That disconnect will leave you powerless for generations.

You have to meet the electorate where they are, even when they have shytty dispositions about things.

You have to actually become president before you can create change and move things to the left. Saying or doing anything that jeopardizes that candidacy is stupid and pissing into the wind. Politics is a game, you have to play it.
