30 days in jail, if that. there's no way in hell this guy has trump sitting in jail on election day :dead:

if i had to guess, i'd say he puts him on probation. dems should be able to work with that. a convicted felon on probation as the republican nominee :scust:

The chances of him violating his probation are high anyways though.

6 months to a year in jail book it…

Violated the gag order
Threatened the judge, jury, judge’s daughter and continues to do so..

Judge will have no mercy on Trump and he will send a message to any Maga listening to Trump

This is why I agree with him getting jail time. Trump doesn't listen to lawyers about shutting the hell up and hopefully in this case it comes back to bite him. Especially since Trump couldn't keep his mouth shut about the guy who is determining the sentence.

that's absurd, why would we want politicians to be able to break this law and know that the worse they'll get is probation because trump was charged 34 times and that's all he got. probation is terrible precedence after being found guilty of the crime 34 times.

breh, i'm all for laughing at trump, and hoping he goes to jail. but stop feigning outrage that running money through his company to pay off a porn star is really a jailable offense :mjlol: there weren't even any victims in this case. hillary's done far worse

i love that Dems did this to MAGA, but it's pure political bullshyt. so if he goes to prison, great. if not, whatever. we'll crush him at the ballot box

Tracking the Trump criminal cases

A definitive guide to the key players and legal risks in the four criminal probes of Donald Trump.

By POLITICO STAFF | 6/13/2023 4 AM EDT | Updated 5/31/2024 1:12 AM EDT

Charges

In New York, the bare-bones crime of falsifying business records is a misdemeanor. But it becomes a felony if the defendant falsified the records with the intent to commit or conceal a separate underlying crime. Prosecutors charged Trump with felony-level falsifying business records, and they said he falsified the records to conceal a separate violation of a New York election law that prohibits conspiring to promote a political candidate (in this case, Trump himself) through “unlawful means.” The hush money to Daniels, prosecutors said, was unlawful because it violated campaign finance laws. And they said Trump’s reimbursement arrangement to Cohen violated tax laws as well.

34 felony counts of New York Penal Law § 175.10: Falsifying business records in the first degree

N.Y. Penal Law 175.10 – Falsifying business records in the first degree

Current as of: 2024 | Check for updates | Other versions
§ 175.10 Falsifying business records in the first degree.

Attorney's Note

Under the New York Laws, punishments for crimes depend on the classification. In the case of this section:
ClassPrisonFine
Class E felonybetween 1 and 4 yearsup to $5,000
For details, see N.Y. Penal Law § 70.00
A person is guilty of falsifying business records in the first degree when he commits the crime of falsifying business records in the second degree, and when his intent to defraud includes an intent to commit another crime or to aid or conceal the commission thereof.
Falsifying business records in the first degree is a class E felony.

he did it 34 times that they could prove, he should absolutely be in PRISON!!!

edit:
recent list of people charged with the same crime.

when trump was a registered democrat they let him skate on blatant crimes well before he ran for president. this is why i say neoliberals are scum.

The Donald J. Trump Foundation is not like other charities. An investigation of the foundation — including examinations of 17 years of tax filings and interviews with more than 200 individuals or groups listed as donors or beneficiaries — found that it collects and spends money in a very unusual manner.

For one thing, nearly all of its money comes from people other than Trump. In tax records, the last gift from Trump was in 2008. Since then, all of the donations have been other people’s money — an arrangement that experts say is almost unheard of for a family foundation.

Trump then takes that money and generally does with it as he pleases. In many cases, he passes it on to other charities, which often are under the impression that it is Trump’s own money.
In two cases, he has used money from his charity to buy himself a gift. In one of those cases — not previously reported — Trump spent $20,000 of money earmarked for charitable purposes to buy a six-foot-tall painting of himself.

Money from the Trump Foundation has also been used for political purposes, which is against the law. The Washington Post reported this month that Trump paid a penalty this year to the Internal Revenue Service for a 2013 donation in which the foundation gave $25,000 to a campaign group affiliated with Florida Attorney General Pamela Bondi (R).

don't get it twisted dems are charged for crimes like Anthony wiener, that dude in texas that donated to his own campaign i think etc..

don't think there a equivalent like republican ken paxton who has fed charges awaiting him when he leaves office and the gop choosing not to do anything about him on the state level.
