The chargers made a philosophical choice when they picked Alt. They said elite OT>elite pass catcher. That was the standard answer for most of nfl history, but I don’t think that’s the case today.
Their offensive line with Alt and Slater is still ass and they can’t score.
Why wouldn’t drafting a stud WR accomplish much? We have seen rookie WR’s come in and make impacts.They had to dump several players to get under the cap. This season was basically a soft rebuild so drafting a WR wouldn't accomplish much. You get a lineman you can have for long term because WR's are more readily available and the coach wants to be a more run focused team.
They probably should have gone full rebuild though and moved Mack and Bosa.
