2022 Wrestling Predictions Thread

I'm just gonna watch & let the writers & wrestlers do their job & if I don't like it, I won't watch or follow it.

 

[Reality Check]

• WWE will announce the release of Michael Cole, as a means of cost-cutting the sale...
• Plus Triple H will be released when it's clear he won't have any influence.

Triple H (via Steph) is getting that golden parachute when the company is sold and will probably be a consultant or work directly for NBCU's Wrestling division. And as long as Cole is healthy, he has a job. If anything, if Vince somehow steps out of the picture he might actually improve since he won't have Vince screaming in his ear during the show.

Here's my hot take prediction.

Wardlow will be the TNT champion by the end of 2021 and will arguably be the biggest star on the roster.

Lashley will win Day One and Brock will win the Rumble. They will fight at Wrestlemania where Brock will win it all.

Roman will beat Brock and then face McIntyre at WM where he will win. No one will beat Brock till the Rock returns for good when his daughter debuts in 2022.

Raw will be fun as they will have 9 legit contenders as Damian will be added to Rollins, Owen's, Big E, Lesnar, Miz, Edge, and Lashley.

Brock will hold the title till Summerslam where he will lose to Lashley.

Lashley will lose shortly to either Owen's, Rollins or Miz. Big E will be in the title picture but just a JAG.

Omos will enter the US title picture and dominate for awhile till Vince gets bored.

A.J. Styles will be traded to Smackdown for Sami Zayn after Royal Rumble. He will be at WM as he will fight Sheamus and Cesero for #1 contender. He will eventually fight Reigns at Summerslam. Zayn will instantly join the 9 person title picture I mentioned above. He like Big E will be a JAG but a high end JAG

Bianca will win the title at Mania and dominate the division.

Vince don't have a clue what he wants to do with Smackdown womans. It's a mess

The end of 2022 will introduce Rex Stiener and Gable Steveson. Gable will be an enforcer for the Hurt Business as Lashley fights to keep the belt after SS when Brock does his sabbatical again. Rex will be assigned a legend like Riddle. By the end of 2022, Riddle will be in the title picture. My guest is Rex legend won't be a wrestler, it will be Paul Heyman and he'll be on Smackdown.

Orton will have a tremendous Rumble but will lose to Brock. Orton is my prediction as the wrestler who will win the Raw title outside of Lashley and Lesnar. He won't he in the title picture but once he's on the radar of the hurt business, he will be and he will beat Lashley.

Lashley will be insanely dominate for 2022. When he starts to regress, Stevenson will join. They will seem impossible to beat till RKBro and them battle. RKBro merch sales is why Orton and Riddle will be together for all of 2022 unlike Omos where Vince has different plans.

• Cokeboy will sadly depart from us
• AEW will actually do exceptionally well on TBS than TNT
• 5 wrestlers will die and 1 will cause the TSC to mourn for months

• PROGRESS will finally go out of business
• NOAH will surpass NJPW due to a top tier signing
• Daniel Bryan will introduce a stable that will raise heads ala NWO
  
• There will be a mass exodus from a promotion that will shutdown the TSC

Not sure why he's afraid to mention AEW since most of the talent that signed in 2019 I believe signed 3 year deals. They need to let some of those deals expire.

• Carmelo Hayes will win the NXT Championship and will become the face of 2.0 after Bronny leaves
• WWE will come to grips that they don’t have the talent to have two separate rosters and will convince USA and Fox to end the brand split

-NXT will go back where it belongs (no, not the trash. Peacock)
-Most Japanese companies will be forced to work together to get back some interest from the audience
-Daffy Rhodes will do something really stupid that'll drastically alter his career
-Terminus and GCW will pick where ROH left. ROH won't come back
-Veer will be released before re-debuting
-There won't be that many WWE releases like this year, but more and more people will ask for their release.
-Proud and Powerful will be tag champs
-Impact will still exist, surpassing any expectations
-Kylie Rae will retire again, this time quietly
-Lio Rush won't retire and will lead an all brehs faction including Shane Strickland and Keith Lee
-A big AEW star will complain about his position on the company and will leave on bad terms

The first bolded is stunningly likely.

The second bolded will be a year or so overdue.

Nah, I'm talking about another company on the lines of WWE or IMPACT. Dub contracts are coming to a end but the only issue in 2022 with Dub is a competitor that will air out the promotion that will "Stink"

Like I said, its not Dub by any means since its a cozy spot for wrestlers, but there are going to be expiring contracts without folks going for a second go round because of Dark or not being seen at all.

Hence why there will be a wrestler that will shyt on the promotion despite the "good" publicity it's been getting.
