I don't think the players want to play at 10 AM in the morning. At least I know I wouldn't.

cuz they want the players to be in their most optimal condition. 10am is too early. Thats just what happens when the Olympics are held across the world from us.

Have you ever watched the Olympics? They literally never cater to US timezones. Games are always played based on local time. The Gold Medal game between USA/Spain in Beijing 2008 was played at like 1-2am EST.

I understand that but they have 2 other time slots (9pm est and 8am est) in the quarterfinals that would work better for US viewers. I’m surprised NBC didn’t push for a better slot, maybe they did. The 9pm est slot tonight would have been dope, that’s when Slovenia and Germany play tonight

USA & Spain are the top 2 ranked teams in the world and played each other for gold in 2008 & 2012 and also played in the semis in 2016 - its easily the premiere draw in these quarter finals regardless of what we think about US basketball's standing across the globe
