we still got the best eyes in the neighborhood

hip-hop/rap album art aesthetics & creative direction still lead the way for everything in entertainment

*

yep that afrocentric aesthetic. that hiphop presentation is powerful and heavily borrowed. still think we need more presentation in the high arts.

what is considered high.art depends on a community of people that don't matter to us

who we choose to support is who shines

we are the light

i hear that but the community will prosper in many varied ways with a more visual representation of what hiphop been doing and is doing. swizz beats is holding it down but more to be done.

the young brothers and sisters think painting and stuff is bougie but thats a small outlook a small pigeon hole they are given the inner city youth. hiphop is for the inner city youth.

props though.

Hip Hop culture is dead, its over, just cacs and asians running around doing shyt nikkaz use to do

its up to this young nikkaz to create something new, create a new culture, the real hip hop heads are in their 50's now

its sad to say but the whites and asians are doing all the hiphop artistry right now, some brothers and sisters out there.

you look at art basel, or what you have in galleries to do with contemporary art even if its a hiphop-esque creation its probably done from a white or asian. its like they are showing more appreciation and using more elements of hiphop than the children of hiphop themselves lol.

you dropped real talk.

that's a broad general statement that doesn't apply to everyone

even in the past the amount of folks that were into the art side of things was a minority

it's more youth in the hood with a expanded view of art etcetera now than in the past just due to exposure on the net(in nyc the line between hood & high.class is easily crossed you can explore the whole world damn near without leaving the city this still the mecca of sophisticated hoodlums ha)

old heads don't be knowing what kids be into they don't ask they just assume the youth ain't on shyte

a nikka like swizz be trying but for real it's young nikkas who could school him & put his taste.level to shame i guarantee

old heads can't abandon the youth cut ties then say oh the youngsters ain't cultured

they ain't make a effort to put us on & develop a curriculum of the 5 pillars so to speak

they set no standards

this is sharp.

i agree with it all but what i highlighted i dont know so much, almost all are favorite rappers are great drawers/illustrators from Em to Nas yet alone the students of the creative classes filled across the inner-cities. hiphop just doesnt push it to the forefront or bare it any type of functional worth ... its deemed bougie(or snobbery) if its not all out graffiti(which i respect).

beat street, wild-style,krush groove, shows a lot were doing their thing ... its just not many young people in the minority are aware of the earning potential and career choices its just a recreational passion so far. so you are right with the rest saying they are onto new shyt with with taste and schooling us on whats popping.

:salute:

it's still art students coming from the neighborhood

kids might not breakdance but we had things like lite.feet & kids who dance on the train in the street as a hustle

youngins are making more money off their creativity now more than in the past where it was just a passion

old heads got to stop assuming that shyte is dead just because shyte is different

you are not going to be in the drivers seat of the culture in old age the youth will always dominate based on energy

knowing that learn to play your role & support empower nurture them instead of trying to make them a rehash of the era gone by

Come on you know better shyt than that

When have our culture not be stolen by the Mainstream and presented to the Masses on a Global Universal Scale

I listed the Bboys who can take it there.
just because you beat box don't make you no bboy at all.

Real Bboys except as exceptiona to the rule.

You either take the culture of hipphop.
To learn its history mores and norms.
as words to live by or you don't.
if you don't live by the norms and mores of this culture.
you are a toy.

Simple as that.

All that dey ain't teach us shyt is bullshyt.

I sit out here everyday and onky one person on the coli. Has mad direct contact to realistically attempt to be an emcee. I have more people here who just ranna fan gaze. Instead if work on a skillset in a pillar. You can not heqdfake pump fake your way into a pillar in hiphop. When principles behind Show and prove.
will always exist to answer amy and all questions.

And just because you Emcee, DJ, Graffiti don't make you a B-Boy also. It's the spirit, the Culture, the love, you live, breathe and walk this hip hop

talking down ain't teaching

old nikkas ain't got no love for the youth

& deeper than that they don't got no love for hip-hop for real

what they love is being center stage & having some say-so

you wanna big homie the youngins & they ain't going

when a old heads star fades they start looking for away to get some power when they see they can't run the show they become critics & haters

it's all bad

Stop.
You are not a bboy
if you are not skilled in a pillar.
You lack knowledge of self to commit to a pillar simple as that.

Which means you are not hiphop.

I know tons of vinyl collectors. It don't make them a hiphop dj.

You have to commit to a pillar or are a head and a toy.

I ain't fooled or swayed by toys ass heads either. They toys too.

Art Barr
I can tell you nikkaz never been around no real Bboys, bgirls too. As you too tolerant and no bboy or bgirl is socially tolerant of toys like that.

You just will not be there

Which is why i never hear stories from any of you culturally in general and it has been twenty three play years.

The wannabe toya fail at simple show and prove.

Anybody can be a gateway interest guy and it could be rap, beatbox'n.
Simply, because they were mainstream.
Don't think that makes you a part of hiphop action culture tho.

You get up?

Again,...you either show and prove.
or you don't in this culture.

All that the youth blah blah blah.
The youth have to take ti the culture.
No yout can feel bigger than thr culture and not learn the mores and norms. To participate in an artistic social tranquil based community.

If you dope.
You would be known as such regardless.

If Yousa headliner. It is because you committee to the culture simple as that.

All that other shyt you saying is being lenient. When hiphop was always strict and will continue to be period.
