That's true - the idea behind the 3rd party would be to force less partisan practices and more of a majority process in getting things done since both traditional parties would have to pander and concede to a 3rd.Most multiparty governments tend to work better in parliamentary systems.

Possibly, unless we find out the 3rd party is some shythole viable "moderate" party that is just between very-right Republicans and center-right Democrats. Or some whacky libertarian party because "both parties" suck.
We need to be real here and admit that the problem is the American people. They believe a lot of bullshyt - most notably that government for the people doesn't work. I do think that we should give a multi-party a shot first, but if that doesn't work, break up the fukking country.

It's like what Kevin D. Williamson from the loathsome National Review said after Jan. 6: I now trust ivy leaguers and tech bros over shytty Trump/Fox News Republicans. I hate that conservative rag (National Review) and what that conservative ideology has done to the United States but he's right at the end of the day: technocrats are superior to what's going on in Texas, Florida, etc.
