Stroman and Syndergaard both left because of how they were treated by the front office. Mending one of those relationships would have gone a long way. Now they're relying on three pitchers on the back end that have no business being more than a four slot at best.

We getting back a decent backend starter, it's a good trade when you look into it
I'm gonna need the Mets to chill and give Dom as much at bats as they can so when they eventually trade him, they get much more value from him. No desperate albeit creative move please.
I'm not a huge fan of the trade but maybe Dom's shoulder is still an issue. I'm no fan of that washed up piece of trash Hosmer but it sounds like if this trade goes through the Mets are going to immediately flip Hosmer. If they can flip him for more pitching it makes them trade more palatable.
