I'm so confused by these playoff rules so maybe even Vientos would be.
This was like the last thing I was expecting to read tonight. Clearly they don't like what the see from Vientos and that have no faith in Ruf ever being serviceable

Edit: Unless they're tryna show him off (Alvarez) to move him in the offseason. (Remember we just drafted that catcher in the 2nd <I think> this past season)
I don't think this is an indictment on Vientos or how they view either. I think it's more like throwing a wrinkle into the Braves plans and rewarding Alvarez after injury derailing him a little bit. Alvarez is definitely in the Mets long term plans. Ruf might as well get ready for spring training back with the Giants.
