I don't think the luxury tax will be much of an issue this offseason since they didn't pass it last year. Don't know if it'll be 290 like it is this year but they'll probably be ready to go back under the luxury tax for 2024 with Alvarez and Baty playing more and manning those positions. I don't know what the luxury tax number is for 2024 but I think they'll manage. You can still extend Nimmo, Diaz and DeGrom and not have to deal with the draft penalties and all that.

I don't know what Walker/Bassitt will cost in FA but it wouldn't surprise me if we keep one of Bassitt/Walker/Carrasco. 2 would be a little surprising but also not shocking given age and injury history.

I can't see Nimmo leaving even with Boras as his agent.

I would say Nimmo and Diaz are a priority over deGrom and due to injury history and price tag I would probably prefer resigning Bassitt over Jake.
Despite new ownership they can't resign everyone.

Not all those guys are gonna be a Met next season. I'm willing to let Jake walk if we can keep most of the 2022 team in tact.

I wonder what the Mets think of Megill going forward. Peterson has been too good to he a spot starter, but I dont know if the Mets envision both being in the rotation. Lucchesi and Trevor Williams should be depth.

Give that man a blank check. I'm sure he's smart enough not to ask for something crazy like a 10 year deal.

Max is getting 43.3 for years. I got no problem going 4 years for 177. That will give him a little more than Max for an extra year. I'll comfortable with extending him to age 38. I would be willing to go to 5 years if we win and he stays healthy.
