Let me keep it a buck with JD Davis...
This is now the second organization that's given up on him, he's 29 by the way. He had 19', 20', 21' and this year to solidify his spot and make himself untouchable, but he flopped. Buck gave up on him
weeks ago, got tired of watching him look over matched against bum pitchers. Constantly rolling over balls to shortstop, striking out on high fastballs, leaving guys on base, you name it.
The Mets are getting their bench and late game situations in order right now for the playoffs (if they make it). Sounds like the Mets gave up a bunch of nothing for this Ruf guy. The Mets are basically saying, "we would rather have Ruf at the plate with runners on base in a playoff game than JD Davis."
Like Rick Peterson said, "rip out the hardwood floor and bring in the Tuscany tile."
