Let me keep it a buck with JD Davis...

This is now the second organization that's given up on him, he's 29 by the way. He had 19', 20', 21' and this year to solidify his spot and make himself untouchable, but he flopped. Buck gave up on him weeks ago, got tired of watching him look over matched against bum pitchers. Constantly rolling over balls to shortstop, striking out on high fastballs, leaving guys on base, you name it.

The Mets are getting their bench and late game situations in order right now for the playoffs (if they make it). Sounds like the Mets gave up a bunch of nothing for this Ruf guy. The Mets are basically saying, "we would rather have Ruf at the plate with runners on base in a playoff game than JD Davis."

Like Rick Peterson said, "rip out the hardwood floor and bring in the Tuscany tile."

One more thing, if the Mets do make the playoffs, and Degrom is healthy and balling out, that's really where they have their best shot.

Scherzer + Degrom going twice in a best of 7. Yeah I'll take that.

Throw in Carrasco, Bassit, Walker, Peterson, and if Megill comes back throw him in the pen. We got a shot at a deep playoff run.

I didn't realize he was 29 already. I dont know why I thought he was 25'ish.

Would have liked to bring Thor back and throw him in the pen but he wasnt anywhere near a must have. More like a nice to have because of the past. He's gonna get destroyed pitching in Philly.

Givens seems like a nice addition. Would have liked a lefty, but he doesn't seem bad. Cubbies are a clown show and I'm glad they gonna lose Wilson Contreras for nothing.

Now that we struck out on catchers, I can see Alvarez coming up assuming he continues to hit. Max and Jake had good things to say about his catching, and his bat was never in question.

Assuming Jake and Max stay healthy and perform to expectations, we got a squad that can stand with any other team in the league. They have as much talent as the 2000, 2006 or 2015 teams
