I have no clue what else they're planning to address the offense but I hope the plan is to take on money and trade some lower position player prospects for most of the other trades. Biggest prospect they should consider moving is Mauricio imo.
I’m not too big on him at all. They been doing good so I have hope

So we're raiding Pittsburgh now.. for trash? Yikes.

McCann must be out longer than they think. Alvarez isn't coming up this year and is struggling in Syracuse, so the C position may get addressed at the deadline.

They just trying to have somebody competent behind the plate. They're just playing it safe with Nido getting hbp. This makes me feel like they want Alvarez to have the time to adjust to AAA (he struggled in AA for a hit and then adjusted and went on a tear) and then call him up later. I really think they are focusing on a more versatile bat and the pen.

Contreras is probably the biggest bat available not named Soto and I think the PCA/Baez+Williams trade is something they don't want to do. The other DH options will come at a cheaper prospect price. If both Nido and McCann are expected to miss a ton of time, then I could see them going for a defense first veteran somewhere.

Can they bring up these prospects or trade for Soto? They gotta do something, the moment they fall behind the Braves it's a wrap.

I've seen this before with the Mets offensive struggles. Starter goes 7, gives up 1-2 runs, but it's insurmountable with a putrid offense.
