If anything, those are amongst the least controversial tweets Stoller has made. What exactly is objectionable about:

1) The media's obsession with horserace-style electoral coverage diminishes the actual importance of governance.

2) The former two presidents presided over a decline in quality of life metrics and pursued policies designed to buoy the wealthy at the expense of the working class, resulting in the general public becoming disinterested/unknowledgable with regards to the actual power the government has to improve our lives.

3) Under the Obama administration, rural communities (African-American in particular) got hit especially hard and received what was inadequate assistance at best, and active hostility at worst.

4) Democrats used to campaign on actual, measurable policies that improved the lives of the people whereas in recent times Democratic campaigning has been more or less "We're not as bad as the other guys!"

5) Black voters have historically been politically savvy and moved their vote to the party that best represented their interests.

I don't see how finger-pointing at Republicans or vaguely invoking American history nullifies any of the points Stoller made.

It get where your coming from, but the problem with his take is both periods he cites have almost entirely been under republican control.

The bottom of this country have always gotten it the worse during recessions/depressions.

By the time we were coming out of the Great recession, as leftists such as stroller and yourself like to point out, the majority of state governments and the house were run by Republicans.

You can miss me with the Matt Stoeller tweets. Large majority approved of Obama's presidency by the end but he's magically a disaster comparable to Bush because he wasn't leftist enough and some rednecks hate him. fukkouttahere

Governing is impossible as long as the republican party holds enough seats to block anything from happening. And white rural voters will continue voting for them because ultimately they realized they're fukked no matter what, but just want to see black and brown people die first.

This stuff isn't to GOP hands though. This is cabinet level stuff. Agency workings. Governing is through that.

Stoller's critiques are entirely directed at the executive decisions made by the Obama administration. The USDA is an executive department, not a congressional body. It's not like he's haranguing Obama for not unilaterally raising taxes.

Yes, there are three branches of federal government, but in modern times the Presidency is an incredibly powerful entity. Obama and his administration bear responsibility for the actions of the executive branch. He can't hide his shytty actions or inactions behind a Republican congress.

Why do those same rural voters prefer him over the rest of the field, just curious.
Because Biden is old, white, male and relate-able. Biden is the type of guy these rural white folks can hang out with at a local diner for Sunday breakfast and just talk experiences and old stories with each other for hours.
