Just an observation...

I’ve noticed this strange trend of white Democrats wondering why Biden is still out front while completely dismissing the entire Southeast as Republican country.

They really are ignorant to the fact that most black people in the US live in the South and will most likely vote heavy for Biden. He will clean up the Southeast even among white people.
thats kinda what black political pundits keep screaming but white pundits keep walking around with cotton in their ears

If democrats don't win the Senate Sanders and to an extent Warren aren't pushing through their most ambitious parts of their platform. Furthermore it suggests the country isn't as far left as some of you like to believe.

I think there’s one study that says most consider themselves a moderate but if you poll issue for issue for things like M4A, raising the minimum wage, free public college, paid family leave, raising taxes on the wealthy — the country is in favor of those things. Independents, R’s and D’s

For certain issues like those, I believe it’s a messaging problem because there’s people on left side economically that don’t realize it

I think its obvious that the majority of the country has moved further left in the last decade. A Sanders/Warren failure to get legislation past the Senate is only an indication of how desperate the Republican apparatus is to hold on to whats left of its legitimacy. If Senate Republicans cared about what their constituency wanted, they would have come back from recess to put gun reform to a vote regardless of the outcome of that vote.

Post Obama, post recession democrats have changed their top voter priorities. I think looking at Clinton in 2008 vs Clinton in 2016 is a good indicator of that shift. But taking a step back the top two issues for dem voters right now is more of a step back to normalcy than a seismic shift.

But yea, republicans have been the party of obstruction for the last decade. I don't see that changing unless they lose control.

Most people consider themselves moderate. And most citizens like you said agree on these things.

The problem in my opinion is the top issues and many one issue voters exists on the right/lean right.

Not to mention that Gerrymandering and Voter Suppression have made it much harder for the Dems (centrist, progressive or whatever) to win. I remember prior to 2018 that there were some people pointing out the Dems didn't just need to win 51% to 49% to take the House back. They needed something closer to 60/40 just to take it. So the country could be a majority left leaning and the election results wouldn't necessarily show that.

Healthcare and education being top priorities is exactly why I feel despite Biden's favorability, both Sanders and Warren have a better shot at the nomination. Its up to them to continually blast their message of how they plan to accomplish those things, even with the potential of a hostile Senate.

Off topic, but I am incredibly entertained by the idea of Republicans top concern being terrorism :lolbron:. What is even more interesting from that standpoint, is how terrorism has taken the place of crime on the R platform and how crime was used to institute so many racially motivated programs and attacks on blacks, the same is being done to non-white foreigners under the guise of terrorism/homeland security. Switched up one boogeyman for another, good old Amerikkka.

While simultaneously denying that white terrorism is terrorism. But like you said, it's racially motivated.

Also, :russ: @ morality. Motherfukkers went from morality in response to Clinton to caping for Trump. :gucci:

She got her eye on a bigger prize as she should, Abrams 2024.
Bruh. What? She’s not even in office.

I hate this trend of losers aiming for high office. Meanwhile all state and local governments are filled with republicans.

This is arrogance and laziness.
