Here come the leaks...

Where the Biden Boyz at? Obama clearly didn't want Joe to run!

In 2016, Mr. Obama quietly pressured Mr. Biden to sit out the race, partly because he believed Mrs. Clinton had a better chance of building on his agenda, and partly because he thought Mr. Biden was in no shape emotionally following the illness and death of his son Beau in May 2015.

By now, the line between heart and head, between the personal and political, so clear a decade ago, has blurred completely.

The two men spoke at least a half dozen times before Mr. Biden decided to run, and Mr. Obama took pains to cast his doubts about the campaign in personal terms.

“You don’t have to do this, Joe, you really don’t,” Mr. Obama told Mr. Biden earlier this year, according to a person familiar with the exchange.

Mr. Biden — who thinks he could have defeated Donald Trump four years ago — responded by telling Mr. Obama he could never forgive himself if he turned down a second shot at Mr. Trump.

Mr. Obama has said he will not make an endorsement in the primary, and has offered every candidate his counsel. But he has taken an active interest in the inner workings of his friend’s campaign, to an extent beyond anything offered to other candidates.

In his interactions with Mr. Biden — the pair had a quiet lunch in Washington last month — Mr. Obama has hammered away at the need for his campaign to expand his aging inner circle.

He has communicated his frustration that Mr. Biden’s closest advisers are too old and out of touch with the current political climate — urging him to include more younger aides, according to three Democrats with direct knowledge of the discussion.

In March, Mr. Obama took the unusual step of summoning Mr. Biden’s top campaign advisers, including the former White House communications director Anita Dunn and Mr. Biden’s longtime spokeswoman, Kate Bedingfield, to his Washington office for a briefing on the campaign’s digital and communications strategy with members of his own staff, including his senior adviser, Eric Schultz.

When they were done, Mr. Obama offered a pointed reminder, according to two people with knowledge of his comments:

Win or lose, they needed to make sure Mr. Biden did not “embarrass himself” or “damage his legacy” during the campaign.

Bernie needs to speak to someone like Sandy Darity if he is serious about black votes. Not some ratchet clown like Cardi B.

Progressives loved this bullshyt.
Word,
I like Bernie but he still struggles talking about how he is going to specifically help Black people. Talking to someone like Sandy about how to close the wealth gap by implementing policy would have greater long term impact for his campaign than a sit down Cardi B.

What do you think the difference in views would be?

You mean in terms of social media or youtube views (numbers)? Much lower no doubt.

But at least he can be shown as being serious about black and urban issues and not just pandering with celebrities.

You got it twisted. He is talking to Cardi on some young people not usually into politics tip. Not on any Black tip.

Bernie's been addressing black issues since he literally marched in the Civil Rights movement, a fact centrists believe deserves mockery. Remember, every narrative Nap pushes is horse shyt. Don't fall for it.

IA, PA, MI, and NC is in play.

If a white person is the nominee FL is in play. Though I still think Gollum got robbed.

Trump got a surprising amount of White Women though. I think the moderates/right leaning ones realize he ain’t shyt.

Based on the McSally vs Kelly match up the DNC and nominee would be better off spending resources in AZ than FL. It's not like we need either of those states to win the election, but Kelly is a strong challenger and McSally is a weak "incumbent" so there's something to capitalize on here. Not to mention itthat flipping both Senate seats in back-to-back elections would be amazing and necessary for control of the Senate.

If Sanders is the nominee he should select Tammy Baldwin as his VP because she should help deliver Wisconsin. Since I'm fairly confident MI and PA will act normally this cycle, that would be the ball game. Warren should select someone like Evers as her VP for the same purpose, though not Evers himself as WI needs him more.

bernie's policies reduce the racial wealth gap more than warren's plans do:

https://phenomenalworld.org/content...nd_racial_wealth_inequality_final_7-19-19.pdf

it's long, here's the important conclusion:

The difference between the household wealth distributions in the bottom ventile (centiles 1-20) in the Sanders versus the Warren scenarios indicates why itis that the Warren proposal doesn’t quite match the reductions in racial wealth inequality in the Sanders proposal: because it leaves debt over $50,000 intact, and there are relatively poor households with more than that much student debt. The fact that that gap is larger for black households than for white households (again, comparing the distribution lines forthe Sanders and Warren plans) indicates that there are relatively more such highly-indebted,poor black households than there are such highly-indebted, poor white households. There’s almost no difference between the Sanders and Warren plans above the 20th centile.
