Is the reason we don’t have the public option currently due to us not having the votes? :patrice:

or leftists killing the bill, due to social healthcare idealism? :skip:

let’s take a look back on who was adamantly against the public option within the Democratic Party.

Bernie Voted for Obamacare. That Didn’t Make Him a Sellout.

Moderates led the charge against the public option. People like Ben Nelson, Mary Landrieu and Joe Lieberman were the loudest opponents.

Yes? Progressives in the senate were the ones pushing the most to pass a bill w/ a public option.

Republicans and Joe lieberman who left the party. Declared himself an independent after rejecting Obama's progressive hope message.

it's actually quite ironic considering Obama's pragmatism and getting Republicans to buy into his popular legislation is the exact thing that torpedoed his biggest initiatives and is the exact trope his understudy is running on. :umad:

:sas1: Path to public option still uncertain

That’s it??? Come on now man. Don’t act dumb.

White liberals refused to vote for the public option, if it wasn’t implemented in the way they wanted:snoop:. Which was a 100% government owned public option.

“Health Care for America Now said the nonprofits were not a sufficient alternative to a robust public option, but the Medicare buy-in is.”
“It was hard to find anyone who knew the details of the agreement and even harder to find someone willing to sign off on it, despite the fact that some senators and a few liberal House members sounded open to the package.”

in fact, moderates were going to pass a plan that kept the jobs for ppl in the health insurance industry. By only allowing “non profit” plans to participate in the public option.

An option that we actually got a moderate republican senators to sign off on. Which was a step further than what “Medicare advantage” currently is, which currently is a collaboration with the private health insurance industry to run Medicare.

guess who killed that shyt within our own party, with a it’s my way or the highway approach :mjlit:

The ppl y’all support:hhh:

:sas2:

It’s time to air out the dirty laundry. Gloves are off. Welcome to the new race

it’s time to start exposing some “do nothing wrong bc I’m trying to do the best for society in the way I want” liberals out here. :win:

The lies must stop :youngsabo:

Let’s get your malleable mind out of the way now. @dora_da_destroyer

you want universal healthcare. Don’t start with the white progressive bullshyt liberals will come up with saying Biden is “out of touch” when he’s about to pass the public option with health plans helping to run it.

Think for yourself instead of white progressives telling you what’s progressive a year from now:ufdup:

They’re willing to sacrifice ppls health for the overall goal of implementing socialism in America.

apparently healthcare is too big of a us industry for it not to be taken over completely by the government.

Compromise apparently is no longer wanted in America, according to some neo-Democrat’s.

After Bernie wins the nom someone needs to make a mega thread trying to link every :trash: article from Jennifer Rubin or whoever else from the NYT, WaPo, etc., every stupid clip from MSNBC/CNN hosts, and every post from “moderate” coli posters from the past 3 years declaring his candidacy a joke or novelty. shyt would be epic.

Keeping my overhead low, and my understand high
because guys like bloomberg and steyer have no interest in bernie or liz running on taking all of their money :yeshrug:

i mean obviously fukk mike bloomberg, but anyone who thinks these people are gonna just lay down if bernie gets near the nomination is crazy. these are sociopaths with billions of dollars :dead:

What percentage of money is "all their money"

If you have just $1B you can spend $100K every day for 37 years and still have $15M left over.

And these guys are multi billionaires ...they can afford a few hundred K in taxes.

shyt, my co-worker makes like $150k and had to pay about $30K.

She prolly paying a higher percentage than these guys
