Vague AF. Yang's political inexperience showing here. He is right that costs can go down due to existing powers of the government and laws on the books. He also is talking about provider payments which Dems aren't talking much about. But still vague.

@Shogun @Arbitrage! @LurkMoar @King Kreole @storyteller

Doesn’t matter. He’s just appealing to tech bro’s with a “well fix it” attitude

Bernie does well with young black people. Biden with old black people. It's not changing.

But the Sanders campaign is doing well with Latino voters in CA and NV.

Yang's proposal will probably go over well if we're being honest.

There's good ideas in it and conversation shifters. We do need more doctors, and he does want to forgive debt of medical students, the lack of federal license to practice across state lines, provider payments, etc. But coverage is vague.

But I guess that's the point.

I mean it touches on most of the high costs of healthcare. :yeshrug:

high cost drugs,

end of life costs,

and Rural access.

No one has put out any plan of end of life costs bc it’s very touchy. Asians save billions on end of life care due to culture differences. To be blunt, they don’t keep old ppl in the icu for long periods of time and/or if they have debilitating disease, they let them die. This costs the us 100’s of billions a year to keep people who should be dead alive, it’s cut throat but that’s their culture. My Japanese friend told me about and I read this End-of-Life Care in Asian Intensive Care Units

It’s also why the older people in japan volunteered to fix the nuclear mess. Which effectively were suicide missions. Old People Line Up To Clean Radiation in JapanThey have a different way of thinking about being old over there. They’re not trying to live forever like we do over here.

More than 200 retirees are volunteering to take the place of young people who are exposing themselves to high levels of radiation. The group figures they have less than 20 years to live and will be dead before any radiation induced cancer develops.”

he’s got a distinct plan :ehh:

Hmm he could have just gone with Medicare for all like the other candidates.. is the price scaring him off? Seems like the Democratic field does not give a fukk about that right now.

I agree it's vague by design. Healthcare is in a place where almost any positive change will have tangible benefits to voters.

He needs to carve out why he's different beyond being an Asian technocrat and voters aren't do or die over M4A. :yeshrug:
