I love that Hillary is keeping that same energy against Sanders and his bullshyt.
Campaigning on the moral and fundamental necessity of M4A is unequivocally a good thing because it's doing the work of shifting the Overton Window and bringing about that eventual day when M4A is legislatively viable. And I'm sympathetic to the argument that campaigning on "M4A in 20 years" may be demoralizing and demobilizing. But what this article is saying, and what I agree with, is that anyone claiming M4A will get passed before the 2022 midterms, or critiquing fellow progressives who believe in M4A because they acknowledge this reality and are creating maximally realistic plans for the immediate future when they would actually be in office and able to affect material change, is either an idiot or a liar. I always thought that the vast majority of pro-M4A people on the left understood this dynamic, but watching the Bernie-left jump the shark and drink the koolaid on this in order to dunk on Warren has been disturbing.Aka Bernie and Liz is selling dreams!
Yep. I've had no problem with the way Bernie has comported himself and the messaging coming directly from him, except for that tweet about a first week M4A vote and that one time he used pro-business Republican talking points to criticize Liz's plan. He's not an idiot, he's a veteran politician who knows how the sausage is made. It's all the voices surrounding him and pushing him that are concerning. This is most likely true, but the YouTube/twitter left don’t want to hear this. I think Bernie even understand this. That is why he always talking about doing rallies to put pressure on senators, because he knows the votes are not going to be there to pass M4A. I don’t see M4A passing before 2024/2025.
Yup. David Parkman did a video making this very same point. Kyle, Progressive Voice, and the Twitter/YouTube left attacked him for saying this. And Parkman is a Sanders supporter.Yep. Fair point. When you ask Bernie about actually trying to implement M4A through Congress, he doesn’t give you a real answer. He says some shyt like “The American people will march on the streets and demand it”. No the fukk they won’t Bernie, you know thatCampaigning on the moral and fundamental necessity of M4A is unequivocally a good thing because it's doing the work of shifting the Overton Window and bringing about that eventual day when M4A is legislatively viable.
