The evidence of Joe Biden's cognitive decline is not the presence of his stutter, which he's had for many years now, it's the myriad of other communication and mental mishaps he's been routinely showcasing during this primary that he didn't have even a few years ago during his tenure as VP. Constantly forgetting or confusing the names of foreign leaders, not having the mental capacity to remember his debate closing lines, he's just not mentally sharp and it's not due to a stutter. The man is 77 years old. That's pretty damn old dude! If any other man of that age was displaying the symptoms Biden is displaying, we'd say "Oh, he's obviously just sundowning." But instead we have to pretend like Biden is still as whip-smart as a man half his age and has somehow avoided the cognitive decline that afflicts most men of his age even in the face of the same symptoms. Blaming his stutter on why he confused Theresa May with Margaret Thatcher is the type of absurd excuse an old person gives to the DMV when they're getting their license taken away for driving the wrong way on the highway.
