When all else fails, cry about a media conspiracy.

I don't think he's crying about a conspiracy. He's just calling it like it is. He's got 300,000+ donors, he's raised $10M in the last quarter, he's made every debate, he's regularly polling in the top 6 for the last couple months now. MSNBC continues to just leave dude off or even not say his name right. Sometimes you gotta call out the disrespect.

Didn't Obama try the same thing and had the GOP obstruct him for 8 years. That's why all those executive orders were used in the 1st place.

Obama had huge majorities for 2 years. Yeah, his legislative program ended in 2011. He had the Senate until January 2015.

But Dayen's Day One series shows how much power already exists in the executive and all of the laws on the books that one can enforce or not enforce...

well you can’t be anti military budget and also expect to keep small towns alive :yeshrug:

military items support small towns. Veep has a great episode about it.

The issue is that Vilsack and many in the Obama administration have cashed out on the monopolies that happened in the wake of the financial crisis. And a bunch of em are lobbyists now for the rich and powerful. All the while that rural America got destroyed despite the promises in 2008 and 2012. The executive branch could have done stuff about it.

Its unfortunate.

Is that what's really happening? Or is it just cherry picking a few examples to make it seem that way? This looks like desperation on behalf of Yang and his supporters. They need a scapegoat to explain why he's just not catching on with the larger electorate and MSNBC is it. They're an easy target atm. They're getting it from Bernie supporters, Pete supporters, Tulsi supporters and Biden supporters as well weirdly enough. This is also being signal boosted by bad actors from Breitbart and PJV.

Here are 3 examples of MSNBC leaving out Harris or getting her #s wrong.

Not really. For the majority of his two terms, Obama fetishized bipartisanship and was committed to the idea of working with a Congress that was increasingly becoming intransigent and openly hostile to him. He only started leaning on executive actions late in his second term.

There's nothing inherently wrong with that. The problem is with attempting to find common ground with people who are constantly acting and arguing in bad faith...which is largely what happened during that time. By the time Obama started wielding executive order it was clear our legislative system was broken by a party that was beholden to extremism.

Ultimately I don't think Biden is truly wrong about executive power/order, and the last few years prove him right. On the far left there's often this idea that Trump has done all these crazy things, and his flurry of action proves that Obama "didn't do anything." Yet most of Trump's noteworthy executive actions have been him reversing...executive actions that Obama took. So the argument self implodes. To me the lesson here is that executive orders can be undone, quite easily, and thus are not ideal. On the flip side, legislation lasts longer. Obamacare has taken some hits in the last few years, yet remains. If Trump loses next year, the incoming president will no doubt reverse most (if not all) of his executive orders. But any noteworthy executive orders that the president takes will then be subject to reversal in 4 or 8 years.

Long story short I expect any president, be it Biden or anyone else, to wield some executive power because McConnell will likely still control the senate and prevent basic legislation from passing...but we have already seen that it cannot be a sustainable path to making change or governing. Honestly the next president is likely walking into a trap that will ensure he or she is a one term president.

The black community chastised Floyd bc he stuttered

Stuttering is the only thing good people think it’s still okay to laugh about“ - Joe Biden 2016

timestamp 13:24 :wow:

Floyd’s made more money from non boxing activities than he did with boxing. Stuttering has nothing to do with someones intellectual capabilities

How do you say "not really" then repeat everything I said?

“The fact of the matter is, the fact is.”

“he writes a letter saying, he writes a letter saying. “
