There’s someone on every team routinely taking 10 3s a game, sometimes a couples. Brandon Miller took 16 3PA tonight and no one will bat an eye. Wemby is 7’5 playing like Keith Van Horn. NBA is a cooked product.

:dahell: Brandon Miller shot 7-16

Not my point. I never said he was inefficient. I said he shot 16x from 3 and it’s become so regular that we dont even make mention of it.

Yeah because they’re actually capable of making them. :skip:

PG shoI 6-9, Kelly Oubre shot 4-5, and Jared McCain shot 3-4 in the same game. This is the new normal. Literally everybody can shoot from everywhere.

He made good points. Most teams don’t have the shooters to justify the number of 3 point attempts they take.
If they don't take those shots it fukks up the spacing and rhythm of the offense. Unless you're saying they should cut down on those 3s and take more long 2s, which would be counterproductive.

The only type of 3s that shouldn't be taken by those who aren't the elite of the elite are contested ones, otherwise, if you're open, you gotta shoot it.

I think a lot of the perception around the 3-pt shot today is because cats have been conditioned to watch the game in a certain way, where something that is almost in complete contrast to the past makes it seem bad/wrong.

In a sort of sense, you almost have to look at the game as if you've never watched it before - does this make sense for x-player to take this shot? Is he open? Is this going to help space the floor? Is this going to make sure his defender doesn't cheat off him? Is it in the flow of the offense? Can he shoot?

Of course, it stands to reason that some folks aren't going to find this entertaining, but I mean, you don't win games by being entertaining.

I wish we had a time machine so we could put today's teams up against teams of the past, and then y'all would quickly find out why teams shoot 3s now.

The 1998 NBA finals went 6 games and neither team scored more than 96 points in a game. And Game 3 saw the Jazz score just 54.

Highly entertaining.
That's why old coli brehs watch those games on repeat.

:skip:

I'm a Spurs fan and even I don't want to go back and watch the 2003 Finals vs the Nets.

These guys are just miserable and will complain about anything on this board. Oh no! There's no more Kobe and Tmac in the NBA! Yeah, and your hairline isn't what it used to be either. The thing about the old days....they the old days.
