@Poitier @str8up

Thoughts on Charles Bassey?

@Supreme Leader Reinscarf @Miggs This is the first real talent Masai's found from his Giants of Africa camp btw. If they're gonna tank, I have a feeling it's going to be for Bassey.

Haven't seen him tbh but physically/athletically he looks the part. Produces anytime I've seen him on a box score. Seen a bunch of Dwight Howard comps.

Herro specializes in creating his shot FYI.

Not really a "shooter," can pass, good bounce but not a ton of burst, and more physical than your average white boy.

The PG depth in the 2018 draft was already terrible and if they don't reinstate Sexton's eligibility then the best one may be a huge unknown heading into the draft:picard::scust:

Damn, he needs to enter the G-League or play in a foreign league, he's lucky next years draft is light on PGs.

I wonder if he can just sign for a day in a semi-pro league somewhere, so he can enter the draft and not damage his stock. I heard Mitchell Robinson's entering the draft next year, but he only finished HS last spring. I thought you had to be in college, be a pro or be a 5th year HS senior in another country to enter the draft.

Sexton can still be reinstated. If he doesn’t, Petty better make good use of the opportunity.

If Sexton isn't reinstated, I'm not sure I trust a single PG in this class enough to draft as a lottery pick.

Duval can't shoot and has looked completely underwhelming every exhibition/scrimmage I've seen him and Jaylen Hands doesn't look physically ready for the next level at all.

Trae Young will likely be the most productive freshman PG but I think his athleticism/size measurables will not make him that desirable on draftboards though.

It hurts so much :mjcry: why won't k just retire, I wanted reddish too

don't worry, ya'll will get zion in my opinion, although I prefer RJ to him anyway for my blue devils. i'd like to get a big in case bolden does well enough to leave, and also another wing/PF if we don't magically get zion too, but I think RJ may be the last get for us unless we go grad transfer route. Other than grayson (who I expect to have a monster year if exhibitions and scrimmages are any indication), we'll lose trevon, marvin, wendell, and likely gary with how he's been playing. If bolden stays, that leaves us with tre jones/barrett/reddish/delaurier/bolden with goldwire/o'connell/tucker/vrankovic off the bench. I'm not liking that bench at all, and it gets worse if bolden leaves.

That RJ Barrett and Cam Reddish duo at Duke next year is going to be unfair in Coach K's motion offense that is tailor-made for wings (Jabari Parker, Jayson Tatum, Brandon Ingram and Winslow etc) to create in space and become matchup nightmares.

I've already noted how I think Cam Reddish has almost no real weakness as a NBA 2 or 3, and is my favorite NBA prospect next year. I think he's has higher potential than both Zion and RJ. In fact he in the recent USA mini-camp last month when he played with Zion Williamson some scouts (and former NBA players) are pretty much now saying Reddish is the most talented player in the country .

Here's some links talking about the team USA basketball mini-camp that future NBA talents Reddish, Williamson, Nassir Little and Keldon Johnsons all played at:
BasketballRecruiting.Rivals.com - Bossi's Best: Reddish heads All-Junior National Camp squad
Cameron Reddish is Duke’s do-everything, anti-hype recruit NBA teams will love
BasketballRecruiting.Rivals.com - Camp Chatter: What players were saying at USA Basketball
“Cam is probably the best overall talent here,” said assistant coach Penny Hardaway. “If he brings it every time he’s on the floor.”

Bottom line, next year's class has one of the best collection of wings in recent years with RJ Barrett, Zion Williamson, Cameron Reddish, Nassir Little and Keldon Johnson all being 2-way lottery pick talents who can have an immediate impact on the next level. It's crazy how Nassir Little (committed to UNC) will be the only one out of that group not going to Kentucky or Duke.

So if a team doesn't draft a Donic, Porter Jr. or Kevin Knox this year they can just wait until next year - because there will be good talent at the 2/3 spots ready to make an impact.
