Spent the past 2 days at EYBL. Guys who impressed me or have high upside, outside of the typical and obvious top 20 guys in 17/18.

Darius bazley (next Lamar Odom, needs to add strength but maybe the most impactful player playing 16u)

Hammer wright (perimeter forward who protects the rim and is made for Syracuse's zone)

Markelle Johnson (maybe the most explosive player on the circuit)

Zion harmon (even if he doesn't grow anymore past the 7th grade, he will be a high major PG, elite handle/change of direction and one motion release out to 25 ft, never gets knocked off his spots)

Cassius stanley (prototypical combo guard at 6'5' with the high end athleticism that looks effortless)

Kimani Lawrence (prototypical wing who can get out in transition, hit 3s and changes directions on slashes to the rim)

Cameron Reddish (Ingram type if he keeps growing)

Jaren Jackson Jr (6'10 protects the rim but also has guard skills)

Colin Sexton (non-stop Westbrook like energy and motor)

Lonnie Walker (strong, great leaper, elite catch and shoot and PnR ability with great size as a wing...reminds me of Josh Langford)

Jordan Goodwin (thought he was just a bully with motor but has nice feel and a developing pull up game)

Alex Barcello (maybe the best jump shooter off the bounce)

Thanks broski... I mostly pay attention to the oldest class. Good to learn some things about guys like Stanley and Harmon.

Did you see Bagley?
I'm starting to think Porter > Ayton? Carter maybe too... what you think?

Cal Supreme was hard to evaluate because they blew everyone out. Even a guy like Markelle Johnson, who bangs on EVERYONE, couldn't finish against Ayton and McCoy. I usually left 5 mins into their games because of the blow outs.

Didn't see Carter but I think Ayton still has the edge because he has better tools but the work ethic stuff and motor worries me.. Porter is definitely more polished than Ayton but is his ceiling that high? Idk.....and Trae Young was the guy on that team....kids pace is crazy, he plays 10 steps ahead of everyone. But it was just one game.

Ya I've heard the Trae Young - Porter dynamic before (though I still love Porter) It's almost like the EYBL Westbrook - Durant or maybe CP3 - Blake?

Same can be said about Quade Green and Bamba. I only saw a game and a half but Green looked really impressive. 10.5 assists per game in AAU is incredible even though that number is probably a bit exaggerated (due to system and possibly questionable score keeping)

Did you see Gary Trent?

There a really good combo

I saw a decent amount of 2019 kids these past few weeks. I think that class is gonna be as good as 2016. So many impressive young kids in that class playing well against older competition

Bagleys the best player in hs. He's so smooth and skilled but for a player as good as him who's probably just thinking about the nba and is playing against inferior players he never takes a play off.

As far as Ayton he's by far the most talented player in his class but the dude seems to coast way too much

Last time he coasted and lost the #1 spot in the class he came back and destroyed everyone and now he's back to while not playing badly not dominating at all like he should. I'm worried about him

Going up against Carter a matchup that should have motivated him Carter really outplayed him

I think Carter is lowkey the best player in this class, it's just he doesn't really fit in the modern NBA. But he is too good not to be at least a solid rotation player for many years. And that's at worst.

Out of the lesser talked about guys, I really like Sextpn and also Chaundee Brown
PJ Washington looks much improved from the lady time I saw him as well. Even though he still can't shoot. Mitchell Robinson and Markel Johnson are sort of slept on as well

Saw a lot of Chaundee...the kid can shoot the ball but is a blackhole with no handle. Physically ready to play at the highest levels though. I think his teammate Zack Dawson has the highest upside on that squad.
