Curry and Trillie Coli-Stien in Charlotte gonna surpass Kobe and Shaq in 2017

would be a terrible trade for the Lakers
For both teams, Hawks would blow everything up and rebuild when they just were one series away from the finals?
Lakers get a mediocre roster that barelly makes playoffs in the west
makes no sense
The 2nd pick is not worth 2 all stars and a 1st round pick. Especially if the wolves draft towns
First off, this or anything like it would never happen, but I was creating a hypothetical based on what the quoted post theorized. That being said, it's bad but not that bad. Teague and Millsap are complementary pieces that make the Lakers a playoff team next year alongside Kobe and their FA big. If you believe they're going after Westbrook then they can move Teague or even play them both together as they both can work without the ball. That team is competitive enough to satisfy Kobe and the fans and could get hot and make a push in the West next season, set up a talented supporting cast for Westbrook after that, and retain flexibility for any other moves they would want to make moving forward.
As for the Hawks, I think this would be a small step back next year but a gigantic leap forward after that. We're going to have to deal Teague or Schroder sooner or later. I think Teague is better now but Schroder has the greater upside if given the reigns. Horford/Towns is an upgrade to Millsap/Horford because our biggest weakness is our rebounding and rim protection. I love Horford and Millsap both but their combination leave us far too weak inside. Add an improvement at SG with a more versatile player, allowing Korver to become the perfect 6th man sparkplug, and we should still get homecourt in the 1st round in the East next season and be a real contender again right after that.
Like I said, this ain't happening, just think it's pretty reasonable logic![]()
Breh, no one is trading the 2nd pick in a draft with 2 possible franchise big men.
Being said that, the Hawks may or may not be better off with Towns and Schroder in the future but you don't blow up a 60 win, conference final team. Who knows, next season they'll be more confident, Korver stays healthy and doesn't get into a slump during the playoffs. The hawks might make it to the finals, a few lucky breaks and they could win the championship. You simply can NOT blow that up.
I get your logic not trying to patronize or anything, just saying.
honestly I'd rather trade Teague and Keep Dennis too but for at least for one more season, y'all gotta bring back Carroll and Millsap, try to aquire a couple nice veteran role players and run it back
We are not far off. I think we lose carroll, millsap we have a good chance. I would go for monroe, gasol, or even kanter to replace millsap so horford can play pf. If we cant get one, then resign millsap. Also bring in Edy and let go of brand. So what should we do to improve the team breh? I love our squad but we gotta make some adjustments to get where we wanna be.
Tell that to the nikka I quoted
But forreal, I can respect that. I wanna see this squad give it another run because we caught some really bad breaks -literally- near the end of the year and were the best team in the league when we were on our shyt.
At the same time though, I would be upset if we did not look at all upgrades possible going into next season. Carroll and Millsap are both FAs who could get contracts for more than they're worth. This team might get "blown up" for us. We need to be shrewd in how we go about this offseason. If the best move is to stay the course then cool. But that should be proven, not assumed.

I wouldn't mind that though. So what do you think of this:
Hawks get: #2 overall pick
Lakers get: Jeff Teague, Paul Millsap(S&T), #15 and another 1st
Hawks draft Towns and sign a mid-tier wing(Matthews, Green, or maybe a surprise RFA)
Lakers draft a high upside guy(Oubre/Looney) and sign a top tier big(LMA, Gasol, B. Lopez)
Hawks:
Schroeder
Korver/FA
Carroll
Horford
Towns
Lakers:
Teague
Kobe
Randle
Millsap
FA

Matthews might cost a grip tho. He might not be someone we can afford. We might have to get two guys from the bargain bin like Ellington and Jared DudleyWe are not far off. Sign a starting sg in free agency so korver can come off the bench. I think we get outbid on carroll, so thabo starts at sf. Draft a young sf to develop behind him.
Teague/dennis/mack
FA(matthews)/korver/bazemore
Thabo/#15 pick(oubre)/bazemore
Horf/muscala/scott
Monroe/antic/edy

Not really a terrible trade for Atlanta since we have to choose between Carroll and Millsap or center of our FA choice who wants to come to Atlanta. With that said, I don't understand it for LA unless they want to try to win in Kobe's last season and feel they can add a player in 2016. I don't think they have the cap once they sign Millsap. For both teams, Hawks would blow everything up and rebuild when they just were one series away from the finals?
