Word is Lakers got Mudiay atop their board should Towns not fall

And just last week the Lakers had Russell & Mudiay over Towns if he was the one left over

Just LA playing games, and it's smart, nobody needs to know what you're doing this early or at all for that matter

Never heard this.

Towns is basically their guy 100% should Minny not take him. I don't think there's a smokescreen believable enough for Towns to fall past 2.

Well, yeah of course. But the order is decided and random, fam.

If it were up to me, I'd fire Fisher for that... but now the order is set. By your logic, they're missing out on Karl Towns and Okafor, not Russell.

Step your shyt-talking and math skills up. :usure:
This whole scenario is why I was antitank . We had the second best record didn't get the 2ndpick due to randomness in a possibly weak draft . :to:

What game would la be playing ? Its impossible that the lakers choose someone else ? I'm just saying if they thought the guards were better then :yeshrug:

It came from Ford, the same place this Mudiay over Okafor rumor is coming from

Guess he just reuses and recycles his rumors and switches the name depending on who he feels like

I'm sure you want very badly for one of Okafor or Towns to be in MSG, it aint happening except for when MIN/LA plays you :francis:

Shouldn't have won those games :francis:

They're in the 2nd spot, what "games" could they possibly be playing?

Potentially influencing Minny, and the fact that they're picking second helps in this regard tremendously. All convo leading up to the lotto was Minnesota preferring Okafor, wouldn't wind about LA having Towns below other prospects make Flip feel justified in his choice and not consider Towns, or make Minnesota second guess their own evaluations if they wanted Towns, even though Towns is who LA preferred all along? Same thing applies with the inverse.

You can look at that and say it doesn't seem likely, but it isn't happenstance that these contradictory stories about the Lakers more so than any other team keep coming out. This is the 5th scenario that I know of and it's all smokescreen, they're not taking anybody over whoever Minnesota leaves over. It's all to keep Minny on their toes.

They cannot influence Minny, the Wolves are going to do what they feel is right, hearing that the Lakers have Mudiay 2 on their board means very little since they can get whoever they want.

Like I already said, I get how you can look at it as Minny has their scouts and can do their own thing but anything I could do to test their resolve and potentially end up with the guy I want, I'd do. It obviously doesn't mean it'll work, but I can at least make it interesting.

I feel like that's the only way you can explain what you're seeing, haven't seen another explanation. And others think the same too.

What LA does doesn't influence Minny one bit. The Lakers have nothing to do with whether Flip wants Okafor or not. Okafor's been atop Flip's board for the overwhelming majority of the season. Flip is legitimately on his own island when it comes to this decision

Your explanation made zero sense:heh: it would only work in the reverse if minny was trying to trick the lakers into trading for the number one pick . Are the wolves dumb and getting Jedi mind tricked

I have no idea if the lakers want towns (probably ) but his logic made zero sense . My only thing Is I haven't heard how anyone thinks these players are once in a generation type players so I mean if one of these random other players got picked by the lakers I don't think it'd be like drafting some scrub over bron. In all honesty I didn't watch really any college ball and have always wanted a star guard on the Knicks (especially after seeing how terrible Calderon was )

I'd trade Martin for Calderon so fast just to avoid having to see this team trade up for Tyus Jones

Russell has a say in this top 2 draft convo, but it's looking like Towns no matter what is top 2 whereas Okafor gives a bit more pause due to fit and just how the game is trending. BUT, Okafor is more likely to go 1.
