I may be remembering wrong, but when I first watched I don't think I got any ominous tone at all during the dinner scene, i remember thinking (like the crew) that he was going to be alright, and then that happenedI thought this thread was going to be like our GOAT Horror Top 10, and do rafter numbers
...anyway, was I the only twisted kid that laughed at this:
Lil Alien Snoop Dogg the Building
...I thought everything else leading up to the lil alien poppin out, was actually more scary. The ominous tone around the crew eating at the table; you felt the Fukkery was about to go awry
he was one of my favorite characters from the movie, what I wonder is how this actual effect was done in real timeYaphet Kotto almost had a stroke and had to be calmed down after the scene shot
That's why I never watch trailers and when I go to the movies, I chill outside until trailers are over...I read a synopsis and that's it. I love the thrill of being shocked and surprised by a movie@kp404 my dad said when he saw it in theaters in '79 that it was one of the most horrifying things he'd ever saw and that people ran out the theater during this scene he said him and his friends had no idea what to expect from this movie. I wish we could go back to the days where you knew nothing about a fukking movie, nowadays we're so connected to information i know what the fukk a movie is about a year before it even comes out, it can totally alter the experience
I just wished filmmakers would be more careful about how they construct trailers. Some trailers are fukking ridiculous with how much they reveal. I remember the Ironman 3 trailer was super serious/depressing and I thought it was gonna be some serious christopher nolan tone type shyt and it was basically a comedy, and it showed every action scene in the damn movieThat's why I never watch trailers and when I go to the movies, I chill outside until trailers are over...I read a synopsis and that's it. The producers/studios are in charge of that shyt breh..its their money, so they have final say (sometimes directors do but depends on contract). In the end the producers don't care as long as the shyt makes moneyI just wished filmmakers would be more careful about how they construct trailers. I wonder if back before marketing got as big as it is nowadays if directors actually constructed their own trailers? I just don't recall oldschool trailers being as spoilerous. Nowadays its people making the trailer who didn't even work on the actual movieThe producers/studios are in charge of that shyt breh..its their money, so they have final say (sometimes directors do but depends on contract). Hell yea watch some trailers from the 1960s and 1970s. Some of them don't reveal anything but just flash the title over and over again with a few seconds of footage....no story or anything, just random footage and flashing title...I love that. That's all we really need imoI wonder if back before marketing got as big as it is nowadays if directors actually constructed their own trailers?
