Give me a school from your squad conference that is a gross underachiever.

ACC I say it's the Rambling Wreck from Georgia Tech
nah, they are what they are because of Johnson. If any school has underachieved, it's UNC...that team that Davis put together some years back (illegally, "allegedly") grossly underperformed. NO valid reason that that team didn't win an ACC title

WTF were they thinking in Norman? These are just as bad as our new ones

Clemson has 3 losses at least with FSU,GA, and SC....

Hell they normally struggle with GT so I wouldn't count them out... Clemson is not the same team as it has been the last few years and I think this program is just shaping up to be a middle of the pack team this year.

We haven't really underachieved at all. You gotta remember that we don't have the athlete friendly majors or classes here and with our academic rep, the administration won't allow too many academic exceptions to let nikkaz in. With Chan, we did underachieve though because he would always lose to teams we shouldn't have. At least we don't have that issue with Paul.

For the last few years we've lost to Clemson, VT, Miami, UGA consistently. I don't think we're favored to win any of those games considering their talent. :ld: And it aint like we getting manhandled in those losses either. Even our lost to yall in the ACC Championship a few years ago was close. :manny:

If we had majors like African American Studies or General Studies to hide athletes in, we'd be the second coming of Nebraska. When he had that talent from Chan's 2006 and 2007 recruiting classes, Paul did work in 2008 and 2009

This is Paul's last chance to show and prove though. If he can still win the games he's supposed to and squeek out wins in the close losses we've been having vs VT and Miami, I think we can easily win 10 games this year. If he doesn't, he's gone after this season with only 1 year left on his contract (2015), so that's an easy buyout. New AD probably wants his own guy in there anyway.

Clemson, Auburn, Florida State, and UCLA are my picks to earn spots in the first-ever college football playoff.

How will they get there?

Clemson and Florida State play in Tallahassee on September 20, but I believe both teams will prove to be worthy of playoff selections despite the fact that one of the two team won’t earn a trip to the ACC championship game because they play in the same division. Keep in mind that Clemson has opportunities for impressive wins at Georgia and against South Carolina, in addition to the week-four matchup against the Seminoles. If FSU slips up, the only loss for the Seminoles will come against Clemson at Doak Campbell Stadium.

Meanwhile, Auburn will repeat as SEC champions and UCLA is my pick to win the PAC-12. I’m counting on the Bruins to take the next step in the trenches to win the line of scrimmage more consistently than in Mora’s first two seasons as head coach.

Who will win the national championship?

I believe the Clemson Tigers will defeat Auburn on January 12 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington to claim its first national championship since 1981. :merchant::what::mjlol:

1. Clemson: I watched Clemson in person during their spring game weekend and believe the Tigers have the personnel on the defensive front to beat Georgia, Florida State, and South Carolina. It’s an ultra-talented group capable of playing stout run-defense and consistently affecting the quarterback. Write these names down (and watch the second video): Vic Beasley, Corey Crawford, Shaq Lawson, and Grady Jarrett.

Of course, when you think of Clemson, you think of offense. But the Tigers defense gives Clemson a legitimate chance earn a spot in the first-ever college football playoff. Let’s face it, the program took an important step last season by defeating Ohio State in the Orange Bowl and though they lose Tahj Boyd and Sammy Watkins, quarterback Cole Stoudt showed the he is certainly capable of running the show during the Tigers spring game. Although Stoudt will be a first-year starter, he is set to enter his fourth year in Chad Morris’ scheme and has accumulated valuable game experience along the way. In addition, Clemson is solid up front and has bevy of talent on the perimeter.

The marquee games come early and on the road against Georgia and Florida State. Sure, the Seminoles handled Clemson last season in Death Valley, but don’t forget the Clemson defensive coordinator Brent Venables knows what it takes to beat the Seminoles. Venables was the defensive coordinator at Oklahoma when the Sooners defeated FSU 47-14 in 2010 and 23-13 in 2011. In addition, the Tigers have recruited wholeheartedly to Morris’ scheme for three straight years. At the end of the day, Clemson has the talent, depth, and head coach to make 2014 a special one.

Quest for Best

2. Auburn: The Tigers have an experienced and proven quarterback, depth and elite talent on the defensive line, a beast on the outside in Sammie Coates, home games against LSU and South Carolina, and the head coach and coordinators Rhett Lashlee, Ellis Johnson, Scott Fountain) to make it happen. Keep in mind that Auburn was the first team in the last six years to play for a national championship despite not being on the plus side in turnover margin. Expect the Tigers to make strides in that area this season, which will only help them return to the SEC championship game.

3. UCLA: Jim Mora has had three recruiting classes to build depth to systems that have remained the same. The players should fit and the roster should be well-stocked because there hasn’t been much attrition since Mora landed the job. The Bruins have to find a way to beat Oregon and Stanford, and find a way to win at least one unexpected one-possession games. Offensive coordinator Noel Mazzone is 8-10 over the last four years in games decided by eight points or fewer. He is 6-3 in games at UCLA in one-possession games. I’m counting on the Bruins to take the next step in their ability to dominate the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball. Keep in mind, the Bruins have given up the seventh most sacks per game of any college football team over the last two seasons. They have to keep Hundley healthy. If they do, UCLA is primed for a special season.

*** Chart: Noel Mazzone vs. Chad Morris

4. Florida State: Expect FSU to have incredible balance on offense with the ability to get nasty in the trenches. You’ll see a more experienced Jameis Winston, an elite place-kicker, and a team that wins the turnover margin on a weekly basis. FSU is 44-1 under Jimbo Fisher when they win the turnover margin. Only Clemson has a chance to beat the Seminoles in the regular season.

The rest of my Top 10 shapes up as follows:

5. Oregon

6. Michigan State

7. Alabama

Clemson Football // Defensive Line Highlights

8. Oklahoma

9. Ohio State

10. Georgia

Last season’s prediction: Baylor vs. Alabama (Yes, I picked Baylor. The Bears were pre-season unranked and predicted to finish fifth in the Big 12. Had the Bears defeated Oklahoma State in late November… and had Alabama finished drives against Auburn….)

This Clemson pick isn’t to be different. WARNING: Do not sleep on the Tigers.

Clemson makes me fukkin sick. Them nikkaz are the kings of underachieving. shyt is disgusting. With the talent they have they should win 10 games a year with EASE.

FSU, UCLA, and Auburn are good predictions, but that 4th team will probably be OSU again. I see them walking through the Big 10 again this year.
